Eventually a few years following the success Steamboats had, Railroads became a revolutionary way to transport goods in the States. Steamboats became popular again during the Civil War, but after the war ended Railroads took over.</p>]]></description>

         <title>What happened to original Steamboats?</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<p>Many steamboats were burned, in fires in the mid 1800's. A total of 567 steamboats were burned leaving only 5 genuine steamboats to still exist today.  Nowadays steamboats aren't used often; their main use now is for touring lakes.</p>]]></description>
