The ditch became deeper with the rain, and created a horrible accident that broke the bus down. Everyone in it had to walk home, while the Logan kids never got caught.

Every morning the logan kids walked to school, but this week it had rained and it was muddy for the rest of the week, the whole week a bus for the white school splashed them with mud and water on purpose until one day they splashed mud in their mouth making little man fall and they all scream out the windows "HA HA HA HA MUD EATER MUD EATER HAVE A NICE SNACK NEGRO" which makes little man about to cry so they decide they will get revenge on the school bus for repeatedly splashing them.

Harper's Resolution

This book has a very sad ending. The Logan's Family land is damaged by a fire Papa starts to save TJ from a lynch mob. However, TJ is arrested and will likely be executed for a murder crime that he didn't commit. Cassie is left crying for the land and TJ, understanding that life isn't fair. And justice won't be served for "lesser people."

But you can give the situation to God and he WILL bring justice if you give it to him.
