Today was both fruitful and enjoyable. Firstly, I met with PDC colleagues through the personal star activity. This was so enjoyable and benefitical that I decided to use personal star activity in my PDC class. The other activity was action bound. We acted in cooperation through this activity. My favorite part is the dialogue activity between the PDC facilitator and the journalist. This activity not only improves the speaking skills but also reviews everything that was mentioned during lesson. In short, today was wonderful.

From Picture Names To Listening

Warm-up activities have always caught my attention. “Picture Names” is one of them. We drew pictures of English words with the letter in our names. Then, we try to guess the names by looking at the pictures through Talking Lines. It was very enjoyable. The other activity is “Four Corner”. This activity was very useful to explain teaching styles. For xample, I chose the picture of the gardener, which means constructivist. We not only developed speaking skills but also reviewed tecahing styles. I will use this activity with my students, too. Jigsaw reading is fruitful. Through collaboration, we did activities about the chracteristics of young learners. The activity provided me permanent knowledge because we gave examples and talked. Of course, it was very enjoyable. But I will shorten the time for that activity for the teachers in my city. Because they may find it too long.
Listening activities are also important for me. I will use flexible teaching framework for my students.

Today we talked about why sts hesitate to spek in English. We put in order the sentences on mentimeter. I met with the "mentimeter" for the first time, and I will definitely use it for my PDC class in order to line up the reasons of why sts hesitate to speak in English.
In addition, today we reviewed the steps of speaking lesson plan. It was emphazised to start with controlled way to the less controlled dialogues. I can use these tips to arrange speaking activities for my sts. Also, I will give importance to the checklist for using a dialogue. For example, I will give importance to the languages's being natural and clear. Of course, I will pay attention to the pictures whether it is suitable to the context.

Today was excellent because we studied on spelling. Firstly, we started with a story including the wrong spelling. Then, we talked about "Look, Say, Cover, Write, Check, Correction", which is used in British Curriculum. I will definitely use this technique in order to help my teachers solve spelling problems of their students.
While studying on spelling, we analysed some activities. These were word search, jumbled words, dictionary sums, word families and word bricks. I will use them for both my sts and PDC teachers because these activities were benefitical and enjoyable.
In the end, we were given sentences on a piece of paper. According to these sentences, each of us went to the walls on which Responsibility, Routines and Rules were written. These words were the key words for the classroom management. Then, we talked about an ideal teacher and strict teacher.
In short, today was excellent. I both had fun and learned a lot.

Reading Time:)

Today we talked about reading. According to the students, reading is difficult. Therefore, my teachers are experiencing difficulties when doing reading with their children. One of the difficulty the teachers face is the students' lack of background knowledge. For example, the students can fill in the gaps with their background knowledge if they see an unknown vocabulary. If they don't have enough background knowledge, they may not understand the text. Of course, this is a problem for the teacher.
Secondly, when doing reading exercises, text should not be too long for the children. Then, instructions should be given clearly so students will have a purpose for reading. In addition, reading text should be supplied with pictures in order to make the text be understood much better.
Thirdly, it is suitable for L2 children because it enables children to read a text with support in an enjoyable way. In addition, this is an appropriate model for reading. Today, we did shared reading "There is a shark in the park." Even though I am an adult, the story attracted my attention, and I enjoyed very much. Of course, the story was good:)

Settlers and Stirrers 😊

1. Today, we talked about techniques such as Chinese whispers, hot seat, categorize on jamboard, etc. The part I liked most were settlers and stirrers. We talked about these concepts. Then, we played settlers and stirrers mingle. For this activity, we folded a page of our notebook. Then, we were given some sentences , which were categorized into 2 groups( settlers and stirrers). I was in the settler group, and I asked my eight friends about stirrers activity. They asked me settlers activities, too. This was both enjoyable and benefitical. I will use this mingle with my PDCs group for giving information about settlers and stirrers. In addition, Chinese whisper was very enjoyable. We were grouped into 2. And we were given sentences. In the end, the last person in the line wrote the sentence. We compared the first version of the sentence and the written sentence. I will use this technique in order to give information about any subject in my PDCs coursebook. That is to say, this stirrer activity was very useful.
2. Firstly, it is important to manage the activity. We should give importance to the checking language. Our instructions should be supplied with body language, and they should be clear. Modelling is also important so that the instructions can be understood very well. Then, assessment process is very important. For this reason, we talked about formative and summative assessment. The fprmative assessment focuses on the process while the second one deals with the end of the process.

Secondly, we talked about child-friendly tests, and some guidelines for developing child friendly tests (clear language, meaningful reasons, etc.) Then, we talked about feedback types. I use modelling for the correct answer very often but I will use self correction, peer correction, and I will encourage my PDCs teachers to use the other feedback techniques. Of course, I should talk about finger correction such as pronouncation activities.

1. Being in PDC will provide a lot of benefits for my local teachers. For example, they will work collabaratively. They can share their experiences. Therefore, these PDC meetings will be benefitical and educative for them. In addition, it is innovative because they can be informed about new techniques and digital games, etc.
2. First of all, planning is important. I will think about issues. These are participants, outcomes, roles, resources, practicel issues. In order to provide a fruitful seccions, I will give importance to the participants ( their ages, schools, needs, feelings, etc.), outcomes, roles, responsibilities, materials, stationary, coursebooks, technological devices, the place and date of the meeting. Of course, it is important to be in connect with the PDCs teachers on WhatsApp, Telegram so that I can give impormation about the place, date, and time of the meeting. I will create an atmosphere where no one is superior, and I will stress that I am a facilitator. By giving importance to these, I can talk about their techniques, experiences, new techniques, etc.
3. The PDC sessions in the programme has given me structure of PDC meeting which includes warmer, review, engage and share, reflect and evaluate, closing marks. Through these processes, I will organize my meeting. This will provide me a clear map about what to do. First of all, the communication, the place and date of the meeting, the technological devices, etc are important. Then, the steps should be taken into consideration. Warm up activities, review of the previos lesson, new techniques, reflection, evaluation, and closing marks are crucial steps to organize well planned PDC seccions.
