He has no kids and no wife and through his childhood, he was on his own and had no help with growing up and maturing. He had to make his own food, and survive on his own. Because he has these skills, he could help the man survive with his knowledge and helpful tools. With him, he will have helpful and useful tools which will help him save the man and get him to Henderson Creek. He has much knowledge about the wilderness, outdoors, and surviving on his own because of his hardships as a child. He has much more awareness then the old man which can help himself live and help the man. He moved to a Cabin in Yukon. He wanted to live peacefully away from his distractions. He went there because he was hoping to maybe bring back some gold to his struggling family back in the states. Larry was outside collecting wood for his fire in the cabin while pepper came up to him wildly barking for him to help his nameless owner. Larry asks whats wrong and pepper ran back to where the nameless character was freezing to death. Larry being the big guy he was, picked up the owner quickly and swiftly. He ran back with him quickly and immediately started up the fire. Just as the owner was about to die he suddenly woke up in a sudden sweat. Larry gave him hot chocolate and a blanket for the owner. He miraculously survived and he could not thank Larry enough. Larry's dog, Doggo Woodson, was playing with pepper. To help the unnamed character, Larry gave him supplies and traveled with the unnamed character for the rest of his journey to the boys at the camp. He has great experience in the wilderness and harsh climates. He has good survival skills and hopes to bring back gold for his family. He is an extraordinary hunter, fishermen, and overall a good survivalist. He is always willing to help others such as the nameless character as he is freezing to death in the snow. He can use his survival skills to help the old man which is extremely kind because he is saving him before saving himself. Larry developed these survival skills as a child when he was on his own for most of his childhood, making his own food and making sure to stay warm and survive the harsh times. His dog named doggo had to help support him in his travels. The dog always helps him for traveling by leading the way to make sure it is ok to move ahead. Because of this, he became the grown, kind, smart, hard working, man he is now.
