I found the webinar insightful, especially the part on the Digital Divide. It’s true that many of my students don’t have access to high-end technology or stable internet, and this affects their ability to engage with AI tools. I think one of the most practical ways we can address this is by creating offline or low-data learning resources, as suggested by the Universal Design for Learning framework. This ensures that all students can participate fully, regardless of their access to technology

The Deep Learn Framework really resonated with me. I think integrating it into my curriculum could be an excellent way to promote critical thinking skills while using AI. By encouraging students to 'Evaluate' and 'Probe' AI-generated content, we help them become more analytical and aware of AI's limitations. In my context, this would help students better navigate the biased outputs from some AI tools that we’ve seen, like image generation tools that fail to represent people of colour accurately

One of my key takeaways from the webinar is the importance of fostering AI literacy among both lecturers and students. Without this, AI might deepen the inequality we’re trying to solve. As a lecturer, I plan to design activities where students can practice using AI responsibly and critically, instead of simply using it as a quick-fix tool. The example of ChatGPT being a free, popular tool was helpful! now I know what students are using, and I can guide them in using it ethically

I was particularly struck by the survey results showing that over 70% of the survey participants don’t believe students have equal access to AI tools. I thought that they all used ChatGPT and the problematic version is the free version. perhaps institutions need to have an AI toolkit for their students to have equal access to all the AI tools
