The Ancient Egyptians used to make Obelisks, Water Clocks and Sundials to tell time. They looked at the shadows cast on the ground to tell time with the Sundials and Obelisks. They looked at how full the Water Clock became to tell time with it.

If the Ancient Egyptians did not invent these things, I doubt we will be able to tell time today.

I am interested in the columns invented by the Romans because they are very sturdy.Today, we can see similar structures in White House,British museum and ST.Peter’s Basilca

I am interested in a four sided pillar called an obelisk,an obelisk is how ancient Egyptians used to tell time;they could tell the time by looking at shadows on the ground.i would assume that obelisks transformed into clocks.i wonder what would of happened if obelisks weren’t created and we wouldn’t be able to tell time.

Columns are usually meant to support a structure. The Greeks used columns to support their temples and structures. However, for the Romans, columns were mostly for decoration
