I feel that to be effective planners we have to base our planning off of our students' assessments. The instructional changes I need to make is with both my math classes. My math class has more students who scored not met than my second class. I need to push my second class farther and provide more rigor. I already do that, however, I am more organized about it this year-I have a notebook for each subject to take notes as I conference with my students. This will be helpful to me, my students, and to my parents so we can see the progress they are making along the way. I also plan to implement new Math centers during Math workshop.

I am also having students create more in math rather than just solve. In reading, I'm working to help students set goals to meet their individual needs this year. I also need to work on independent reading conferences. I have very little confidence in myself in this area. Additionally, I want to build a love of reading in my classroom that teaches students that anyone can read and enjoy it. For math, I am working to have more successful guided math groups and am focusing on strategies that I can teach my learners who are struggling with concepts taught in class. I am also working to incorporate several of Dr. Nicki's math strategies this year for centers.
