I am nurturing and bright
I wonder where my life will take me
I hear the future calling me towards it with excitement
I see my life's experiences spilling over, creating new paths through society
I want to be the rain that inspires growth in others and the sun that brings light to the forgotten                                                                  I am nurturing and bright. 

I pretend to not be scared of the question-marks that are lingering in my life
I feel an attraction towards the road less traveled
I touch the dust that gathers among the pictures of my past that I carry dearly with me everyday
I worry that I will never return to my home in Mexico
I cry thinking about a life lived without my parents
I am nurturing and bright.

I understand the need for love, acceptance, and understanding
I say there is always hope for those who need it most
I dream of being a "mother" to children and students all over the world
I try to be the epicenter of an earthquake of love that changes lives
I hope that my rain will never dry up, nor my sunlight grow dim
