From 1925 to 1957, Adolf Hitler released volumes of his political manifesto filled with his ideologies for himself and for the Nazi Party entitled Mein Kampf. The manifesto outlined the life of Hitler and established the reasons for his political agendas. Overtime, the book became one of the cores to the Nazi Party, establishing the vision that the Nazi regime would follow as the empire expanded.

Albeit the Nazis constructed mass amounts of heinous crimes, massacres, and human rights violations, the Mein Kampf holds a very dear message to everyone. Through its dissection, one can understand that the violent acts of the Nazi Party were rooted in a more wholehearted intention.

"He who would live must fight. He who doesn't wish to fight in this world, where permanent struggle is the law of life, has not the right to exist." - Adolf Hitler, Mein Kampf. This quote reveals that despite the unfortunate results of the Nazi regime, Hitler and the Nazis were simply fighting for social change in an effort to improve their lives. Hitler goes to show with this quote that all his actions, statements, crimes, wars, and conflicts were for the sake of furthering the interests of his own people. He fought because he knew that the survival of his ideologies and people depended on it.

With this information, a better understanding of the Nazi Regime can be developed. Hitler initiated conflicts and a dictatorship that resulted in the death of millions, the violation of international laws and treaties, destruction of property. But deep down, one must come to see that he did it for a reason; to fight for a better place for his people.

When people with contrasting ideas come together, conflict arises. But at the same time, the gathering of different ideas result in the creation of an innovative solution to society's issues; progressing development for a better society.

This introduction is entitled "The Cory Aquino Cabinet" as it draws inspiration from the influential and memorable cabinet of President Corazon Aquino. This cabinet was the single most remarkable cabinet in the history of the Philippines. It was notable because it was the first cabinet that brought together people from all corners of the Philippines. P. Cory invited people from far flung regions and established a government that was extremely innovative. Because of the diversity of people in her government, she was able to draft solutions to the country's problems that were never before seen. However, this did not come without struggle. Since everyone came from separate backgrounds, they spent a lot of time fighting since they had clashing ideas. Members were in disagreement on the direction of the country and kept on trying to outclass each other's ideas. However, after all the fighting, it was this very same cabinet that were able to come up with solutions to bring the country back from the aftermath of the dictator Marcos' rule.

This is meant to be an analogy for my understanding of conflict. Conflict is nothing but a fight for change. Conflict is the prospect of several entities, bodies or individuals who come together to fight for their own ideologies. Naturally, with contrasting ideas, there arises conflict. It's like oil and water, they don't mix. Yet, it is because several ideas come together, that the creation of an idea which is the best for everyone is created. Hence, the conclusion that conflict is necessary and inevitable.

In this photo wall, you will see how conflict is an exchange of ideas in an effort to establish a better status quo. Conflict is a repeating and vital part for change to be ushered into this world. You will undergo an analysis of how several conflicts contribute to the idea that conflict is best and allows change to happen.

Fundamentally, the proxy wars were wars between the capitalists and the communists. They weren't conflicts between the Democratic People's Republic of Korea and the Republic of Korea or Viet Cong and South Vietnam. Rather they were a wars between the ideologies of the East and West. In essence, proxy wars were a competition as to what idea is better. Hence, these wars were puppets for the more ideological than physical conflict of the USSR and the US.

The Marionettist is an expression that the wars are an extension of the puppeteer's powers. What was at war here weren't the actual people fighting the war but the ideas of the people behind it.

This is part of the reason why the tensions between DPRK and ROK still exist because DPRK is still communist backed and ROK is still backed by Western powers. Until this day, there is a less active proxy war happening on the Korean Peninsula. The extension of communist and western power still exists and the clashing of ideals still happens. In the same way, the US and other Western Nations aren't in full approval of communist states in the ASEAN region like Cambodia or Laos who are extremely intertwined with China economically.

The Proxy Wars is a good example of how conflict is just a discord. The battle of ideologies to fight for what a certain entity feels is right. This is important to note as we see later on in the photo wall how we can turn this into something that is beneficial to society.

The Just War Theory is a set of international ethical guidelines that state the extents of which conflicts may go to. In addition, there are also international laws on war that prevent a war from going too far. In principle, these concepts of Jus ad Bellum and Jus in Bello sit on the borderline that human life is sacred and society must not reach the point that war takes away life. If the international community is so strict on establishing rules to the preservation of life, then why does the just war theory exist? Why is war somewhat permitted? Why can conflict be rendered justified?

The photo for this section shows the declaration of certain nation's to enter war. In this particular case, the start of the Second World War was marked by the retaliation of these states against the action of Hitler. The Just War doctrine suggests that this is allowed because of the fact that is in defense to the one who initiated the war. This makes sense permit the defender, condemn the perpetrator. But is it still moral to permit the defender if in doing so, people die which contradicts Just War Theory again?

The answer to all these questions lies in the fact that society wants to fight for themselves. The second World War had so many countries opposing Germany because they could not stand a revolting act being done that goes against their ideologies. This is why the Just War Theory exists and the international community permits such things to happen. These events together with the doctrine show that conflict is a means for people to defend what they believe in. Justified conflicts are those whereby countries can't stand for an injustice committed to their own territory, identity, religion, culture, etc. The very existence of these concepts imply that conflict is inevitable because society had to make a set of rules to allow it.

In conclusion, conflict arises when one needs to preserve, promote, and push for their principles as they believe is necessary; this is an effort to stand one's ground and uphold the foundations of a righteous society.

The Russo-Ukrainian war was exacerbated when Russia invaded Ukraine in an effort to prevent the spread of Western ideals to the areas surrounding Russia. When Ukraine was in dialogue to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, Russia saw this as an overextend of Western power and wanted to put a stop to this. This is the reason why Russia heightened their military operations in Ukraine amongst other things.

In concept, this is the same as the Cold War. The communist USSR was in disapproval of the capitalist US and vice versa. They wanted their own kinds of government to be the global standard. Once again, the parties involved are fighting for their own beliefs. Hence, these ideologies that are still very much existent until this day are clashing again. As long as there are ideas or beliefs that are different, they will end up clashing and fighting.

You could call this a War Cycle. Countries will always and forever keep on fighting for what they want. This is why wars keep and keep on happening and conflicts keep and keep on arising. People who disagree on certain things fight, hence why the next photo is important.

The end of the Second World War brought about development in multiple facets of society. Most notably, post-war society was heavily invested in technological advancements. The war advanced many industries like steelworks, aviation, medicine, etc. These industries post-conflict flourished even more due to the amounts of research and development poured into them during the war. Although countries experienced economic instability and a heavy recession directly post war, the industries became somewhat "sustainable" in the fact that there would be returns of investment in the long run. Numerous advancements in the medicinal field were made due to the fact that soldiers had to be treated. Many medical practices developed during post war and treatment options for illnesses increased.

Aside from this, employment after the conflict was in maximum levels. Most of the population were employed. The most notable change was the inclusion of women and colored people in the workforce. The war forced women and colored people to be given jobs to fill in the gap made by the war. This was the start of labor advocacies and equal rights for women and minority populations. Activism for such causes became more common and these previously excluded populations finally had a prevalent part in society.

These changes are only a few of the many advancements made during the war. Although conflict does have its disadvantages, this shows that conflict changes things for the better. Despite the bloodshed, society a few years after the war is more or less always better due to the opportunities that conflict presents. This shows that amongst other things, conflict is a catalyst for development and in the long run, leaves a positive impact in society.

As we come to the end of this photo wall, we have seen that conflict isn't just destruction and decimation. In reality, conflict is a battle for something better. Hence, it has been reinforced time and time again that conflict is inevitable. For the most part, it's because it is a way for people to fight for social change.

Nowadays, even ordinary people involve themselves in conflicts. Although not as big as a world war or massacre, people still join rallies or advocate for a cause. These may not be seen as conflicts but in essence, they are. When people go against the status quo to inspire change, they are in one way or another, ensuing conflict. Especially with the present generation, people are more invigorated now than ever to fight for something. Social change arises only when someone has the courage to fight for it. If society wants to keep progressing itself, then people need to stop being idle and battle for this world to be a better place.

Conflict is complex. One cannot render it as truly bad nor can one determine that it is truly good. On one hand, conflict in its most extreme ways causes chaos, mass destruction, and death. Yet in the long run, conflict leaves societies in a better place. The lasting impact of conflicts allows people to flourish and experience a better society.

So one cannot say if conflict is good or bad but one can see that conflict always creates change through the clashing of ideas, and that's the beauty of it. From the Mien Kampf to the Proxy Wars, the Russo-Ukrainian Wars to the fights people battle everyday, one has seen the importance of fighting for your beliefs.

History will have many more conflicts to follow because people will continue to fight for something better. Of course war is bad, but conflict itself, the exchange of ideas is good. Society should keep pushing ideas together through conflict as a means to derive a better society.

Conflict is the sine qua non for society to progress and change will only happen when people continue to push their ideas to discord.

As a young person, I can address societal conflict by ensuring that I am always engaged in it. The best I can do to address societal conflict is to make sure that I am constantly updated with world events and politics. A young adult needs to start having their input in society at an early age. I can support political advocacies and stay active in dialogues with my community. It may sound weird but I want to involve myself in conflicts because it shows that I have some level of concern for society and that I will be able to help other people.

Humanity should stop looking at conflict as something despicable. Conflict shouldn't just be war or the destruction of lives. One should look at it as a permanent part of society. Conflict is a cornerstone of society that will be there when people need to advocate, uphold, and stand up for "peace, dignity, and equality".

Conflict or the constant clashing of ideas will only stop if we reach compromise. Compromise means that people find the middle ground in their ideas and reach a conclusion that would be beneficial to all. This way everyone is satisfied and can reach a point whereby sustainable development can foster.

The most famous form of compromise is the United Nations. The United Nations came into fruition when there was a need for conflicts to be settled after the Second World War failure of the League of Nations. In the United Nations, Member States come into debate amongst the UN's six main organs about all things under the sun. Here, member states create resolutions to solve the world's problems. More often than not, nations tend to quarrel especially on contentious topics like the rights of minorities, territorial disputes, etc. However, the United Nations marks the establishment of a peaceful post-war era. The battles seen in the previous photos are in control because of the United Nations. The UN shows that the only way for us to resolve conflict is if we have proper cross-cultural exchange in an effort to draft a communal conclusion that would benefit everyone. Diplomacy or the peaceful relations between countries is also important in resolving conflict as to stay conflict-free whilst negotiating on global agendas. Conflict in society still happens everyday but with diplomacy and compromise, a solution will happen that inspires change.
