I personally agree with Emile's theory of Functionalism where all roles in a community is important for the longevity of society. Every person deserves respect for the work that they do without one the entire functionality will collapse just like our body systems. Without the government there would be chaos as there is no law; without national security there would be no order as no one would enforce laws; without the sanitation workers there would he no community as diseases wreak havoc and spread from person to person due to unclean environment. However, what i disagree with is that Emile failed to highlight the fact that although all roles are important those that are lower are exploited by those that have higher authority (based on income). Wealth brings ignorance so those with more income and authority belittle the lower class and exploite them by paying less for more work or treating them with little to no respect.

Characteristics of culture show how it is passed through generations. It is learned, so it is not naturally occurring from birth. It is transmitted, so it goes from one generation to another. It is shared, so it brings people in a community together. It is adaptive, so we adapt our culture to change in society.

My ethnicity is a mixture of Creole, Mestizo and East Indian, but my culture is primarily Creole. Although my heritage is mostly East Indian, the area i grew up in made my culture be integrated with creole traditions and beliefs(shared culture). This shows how heritage does not immediately influence our culture.

I agree with Weber's theory for evolution. The innovation of technology is more a result of rational thinking. Rationality is seeing the problem and creating a solution, which further evolves society. The problem was increasing population and fewer resources. Rationality brought about tools and methods that created more and also governance systems that allowed resources and work to distribute properly for a more stable society. The nomads had a small population, so they shared all resources equally. The agrarian had a larger population so they advanced agricultural methods to increase productivity. They had either a monarch or council of elders which created laws and determine punishment.

With that being clarified the real discussion is 'why I believe mestizo ethnicity in Belize should not be allowed to use the N-Word'. The word N---er was first used during the transatlantic slave trade which was derived from the Latin word 'niger' meaning black. This was used as a derogatory word to refer to black people as inferior, unworthy and akin to animals. It wasn't until the late 1990's - early 2000's where the hip-hop and rap culture in America started using the word n---a for endearment and solidarity. At this point it began being used by black individuals all across the world with the unwritten rule that only they were allowed to use it publicly. Later the word was used by Mexican Americans individuals, but was silently Acquiescent by African Americans as they were also a minority group in America. I believe that mestizos should not have this opportunity. They were one of the many ethnic groups present in Belize after British colonial settlement, and make up 51.7% of the population as of 2022. Throughout history we see mestizos generally holding high positions of power in political and corporate scene. I might argue personally that mestizos might have more opportunities when compared to creole and garinagu. This then excludes them from minority groups in both the literal sense and social definition unlike the Mexican Americans.
