How about the kids have their graduation, no parents present, but a photographer to capture the memories. Photos can be shared with everyone. 

With some of the leftover 8th grade trip monies, how about a yard sign for every 8th grade graduate? My daughter's treacher and specials teachers definitely deserve something for all their amazing work!! I was thinking, a way to engage the students, and to honor all the students for doing their best to get through this. Each school could do this separately. 
What if each student (and staff) created a paper leaf. The size of a postcard or so. They can color it and write their name on it. Then mail to to the school. At the school, with the help of the art department, we could have a big paper trunk of a tree with limbs. Each limb represents a grade, staff..etc. We then taped it all together and the root and trunk of the tree represented the community and school of Jamestown - the strength that nourishes the growth. Maybe the maintenance men could could hang the tree outside each school for people to drive by and see. In addition, the school could plant trees in honor of this year as well.
