I'm Maria Paula Lozano Cárdenas, but people used to call me "Mapu",  I'm 22 years old, I was born in Bogota, Colombia. I live with my mother and my grandmother and with my two pets that I love very much, a cat named Milú, and a dog named Bella, I really love animals. I really like the languages, specially English, I think it's a global language and it can be spoken with ease in other countries. As for academics, I'm studying the ninth semester of my degree in Spanish and foreign languages, I consider myself a responsible person and committed to the things that I'm very passionate about, such as teaching. 

My name is Maria Fernanda Cepeda, I was born on May 2nd, 2000, I'm 21 years old, I'm currently studying Spanish and foreign languages, I'm in the ninth semester. One of my favorite hobbies is dancing, I really like music and fruits; I have a sister and a brother and I'm the youngest, I have 2 nephews, I really like to share with my family, my parents are the most important people in my life, they make me very happy and I always want to return happiness to them with my achievements; we live in Altablanca, Usaquen. I consider myself a smiling and friendly person, I like to meet new people, I like to listen to people and I love to laugh. When I was a kid I always wanted to be a teacher, my older sister has a kindergarden and I had the opportunity to work there for 3 years as an English teacher, it was a very enriching experience personally and professionally.

It's about the way we recognize and understand that each of us has different values ​​that are shaped by different cultural backgrounds. We also believe that "normal" behavior in one country can be quite different in another.

In order to find our article, we have decided to search EBSCO for documents related to consciousness in terms of intercultural communication and interaction. We read 3 articles in which we could find important information, however we ended up deciding only one, which was more connected with our project.

Culture awareness has become an important focus of modern language education, a shift that reflects a greater awareness of the inseparability of language and culture, and the need to prepare students for intercultural communication. The paper reports on an ongoing study into the presence and status of cultural understanding in EFL teaching. In this paper, the underlying assumptions and influences of culture awareness in Language teaching and learning critically analyzed.

It is determined that generating a change from the traditional position to the intercultural position in the today's world, like the modernization has increased human mobility and expanded contact with people from different cultures. In other words, cross-cultural communication has become a distinct feature of globalization. People have differences in cultural background, life style, education, political and economic conditions, etc. Therefore, it is not surprising that people encounter many difficulties and obstacles in mutual understanding when communicating in different contexts. .

Within cultural interaction, a cultural awareness must be had and with it a cultural intelligence, and the article proposes to implement a guide or a framework to build a cultural understanding based mainly on process skills, in which the  managing diversity is an issue that needs to be emphasized. With this, people are increasingly aware of the need to understand other people’s behavior and their culture culturally.

Taking into account that our project is aimed at a behavioral way in terms of awareness in the way of interacting with other cultures, this article analyzes that culture cannot be ignored in the field of cross-cultural communication, because it has a universal influence on the communication process. It shapes behavior, ideas, attitudes, and general lifestyles. Therefore, it seems reasonable to make full use of culture, because it is an important part of intercultural communication.
