Each set piece is incredibly detailed, and felt and clay are used to create a childlike feel, but also sometimes real life items of food or realistic looking clay creations are used (there's a fake brain in this one). The creators also combine the tangible sets with some great 3D rendering, using this contrast to explore our changing relationship with technology. I chose to share this piece not only because it is the first one that comes to mind when I think of motion graphics, but also because I think quite a few people have seen some frames or snippets of Don't Hug Me I'm Scared, maybe without realizing what it was. This moving graphic reminds me that 2D animation has still got it! The elements of art in movement can make any 2D world feel as 3D as our own. This animation emphasizes its character design and world-building. It appears to be a sci-fi fantasy with architecture so far from the real world. This piece is worth sharing because it has quick pacing, and although it's short, you'll feel like it has the potential to carry more content. It's immersive in that you the viewer follow the main character on his journey as he battles the clock in order to save his sibling. I find it exceptionally cool that although few words are spoken, the moving visuals were more than enough to let you know the gist of what is going on easily. On a more personal level, I enjoy fluid animations that sort of have a vector-art feel. The coloring and lack of texture remind me of adobe illustrator created clipart. Although this style lacks texture, it doesn't take away from it's quality at all because the movement is fantastic and you know through that that the creators are passionate.

I chose this piece because it reminds me of the movies I watched growing up. I also really enjoy the soft and rounded style the animators went with. The creators of the video were able to tell the whole story silently through their creative cuts and transitions, as well as the characters' body language and facial expressions. I also find the story funny and uplifting.

I chose this piece because of the vibrant colors, the 80s/90s style, and the Japanese art influence. It's a music video for the song "Crystal Dolphin," but it can also serve as a brief story of the rise of a successful pop group. The video takes us around the city and shows us different characters listening to the pop group's song. There is one particular scene where a kid puts on their LP record and suddenly everything around him starts levitating, including himself. I think we've all felt the same way when we heard our favorite artist for the first time! The piece itself has tons of moving graphics. Every scene has something going on that captures your attention. One of my favorite shots was the pop group being larger than life by literally being as tall as the buildings. All in all, a sweet, colorful piece that captures the excitement and exuberance of music.

This video really stood out to me, I love how it incorporates both real life and fantasy. A lot of aspects of this piece were interesting to me, for starters I really like how the creator chose very warm toned shots not only to portray literal warmth but to add contrast with the shadow-like characters. I also really liked how the movement was captured not only with the videos but the how the characters had both a realistic sense of movement and a very unrealistic sense of movement. I chose this piece to share because I thought it was a very cool idea and people should see this type of work.

It seems like a note-worthy opening to a series or film, and very chilling vibe to catch the viewers attention. The color scheme is a rusty-red, contributing to the old fashioned retro setting. The animations are kept to a minimum amount of movement, allowing the viewer to take in the setting of the story. I chose this piece because I enjoyed watching it from beginning to end. Initially watching the video, I interpreted it as a video about loss or illness. Even though the creators used cel-animated paint overs, adding a brush-like effect, there was still great detail to the two elderly characters’ solemn expressions. The video was about the “impassioned emotions of a caregiver… the experience of being swept away” and moving forward in that struggle to overcome it with care. I’m choosing to share this specific video out of the others I watched, not only due to it’s important message, but also the unique visuals. As aforementioned, paint overs were used as an overlay to the 3D character animation making for an aesthetically pleasing video.

I love how he is flying across the sky and passing soo many different countries. This was shown by the flags that changed on his body.  The changing flags made me think of the many, different cultures there are in the world.
I cant be sure this was intentional, but I think it's cool how the cat remains basically the same except for the flag change.  It could mean that we are share the same type of insignificant divide between all countries.
I chose to share this video because, it truly got me smiling! Hoped it would do the same for even 1 more person!
There were many comments for the past couple days, for some reason original viewers of this video re-unite on YouTube to re-watch and comment again.
I think a lot of people experienced the same type of happy and united feeling I did. Felix Colgrave. I picked this video because I really enjoy the silly concept of a creature wanting so badly to just have as many crowns as they possibly can. I really like the style of animation and the character designs that Felix made for all the creatures he has a way of making them enjoyably creepy. His animation concepts are all so creative and inspiring! My favorite part is the ending where the main character finally throws a fit at the end because they don't get what they want. The expressions he makes for the characters are so great. I want to make things that this many people can enjoy and inspire them to make things as well!
