Buntin is for Gentrification. He mentions that the status of most neighborhoods is strikingly stable over time. He also mentions that there is very little evidence that displacement even actually happens.

What is Buntin's main argument in this article?

The main point that Buntin is trying to make is that gentrification doesn't really hurt black and Latino neighborhoods but it often bypasses them. This means that instead of focusing on getting out people of color they just go right over them and in the end it actually ends up helping them.

What evidence does Buntin present regarding the positive effects of gentrification on African American neighborhoods?

In the document Butin basically counters all the argument that justify that gentrification is bad. He believes that gentrification is a good thing because it makes communities better. He also compares gentrification across the nation. He compared a white neighborhood to an African American neighborhoods. There was a better white neighborhoods than African American neighborhoods, they would attract to minority households, there was no harm, students went to white college graduates and black high school graduates. African Americans live in more diverse neighborhood, find better jobs in less diverse neighborhood. There isn't much gentrification that hurt black neighborhoods, they often bypasses them.
