As a person who attended Private education and as a parent who sent her children to only Private Schools, I would like to advocate for the ban of Private Education in South Africa. I believe that the only way forward to create equal education for all and to involve parents and communities in the uplifting of their local schools, for schools to become fully inclusive, the country needs to create a fair and equal education without choice. All children should attend the school in the area that they live in and should not be able to have access to 'better' education just because the family has 'the means.'

I think private education should stay

I think that being able to send your child to a private school is a privilege that few people have. However, the freedom to do so should not be taken away in the attempt to equal the playing field. I feel that if we put a stop to private schools it provides an easy escape for government. The freedom of choice in my opinion supersedes the need to stop privatisation especially when we can work to remedy the flaws in the education system.

Privatisation of education may resul in to higher costs of living, causing more children to be excluded from learning, which is detrimental to their well-being and future prospects.

Education should not be privatised . My reason for saying this is when I did my comparative studies, it was very clear that countries which have schools that are funded by the government worlds well. For example there is equal distribution of funds and resources. For example in Finland all schools have similar facilities, so having to pick a school is easy unlike in South Africa the closest school to your house is not necessarily the best government school. So once we have schools that are all given attention there will hopefully a better running of schools and the standard will go across. This is not something that will be easy to implement.
