Social structure has the most influence on Mesopotamia because it is very important in running everything, and keeping everything in an orderly fashion. Everybody has their own roles to help and without it nothing would work or nothing would happen because social structure runs everything. Social structure also runs food supply, trading and everything else that is needed in a thriving civilization. However one might believe Social Structure is the downfall of a civilization because slavery and the lower class were treated very unfairly.

The Social Structure article says “Mesopotamia was one of the earliest civilizations to establish a social structure. …People in Mesopotamia believed that a king was the link between the earth and the heavens. A kingdom would only prosper if the king pleased the gods. Next in Mesopotamia’s hierarchy was the upper class: the priests, priestesses, and educators.”

This evidence is relevant because it shows Mesopotamia had a very stable social structure and everybody had specific roles to keep everything and everyone in place. The belief that the king had to make the gods pleased to keep Mesopotamia in peace shows how important their religious practices were which also means social structure is very important to Mesopotamia. And without it Mesopotamia wouldn't be able to thrive.

Social structure included priests and priestess who were very important to Mesopotamian heeling and vital to there religion and beliefs. The priestesses and priest were cherished, being one of the most important parts of ancient Mesopotamia. Without these priests and priestesses Mesopotamia would not run very well and would not have a very stable civilization.

This indicates that priests and priestesses were vital to Mesopotamia because they provided heeling, and dentistry which was very needed. Also in Mesopotamia scribes educated, and tutored people so they could learn. Ultimately the social structure ran all of this stuff which was very helpful and was needed in the growing population of Mesopotamia so without all this stuff, meaning no social structure. Nothing would ever work and the whole civilization would crumble with no order.

Farmers grew food for the city. Merchants and artisans traded goods with people from other places.

Social Structure had a middle class which mainly consisted of workers like traders, merchants and more. These middle class people helped with everything outside of Mesopotamia. Which was crucial to Mesopotamia. This was all apart of social structure, which made everyone have there own roles, and responsibilities. Untimely leading to different jobs so Mesopotamia could blossom. If Mesopotamia was unaccompanied by social structure then it wouldn't have been able to survive.

This evidence is relevant to Social Structure being the most important part of a thriving civilization because it talks about how the middle class were workers and traders. And this helped Mesopotamia in many ways. Like how they traded with other places which was great for gathering materials and necessities for major problems. And without merchant or traders Mesopotamia is more likely to have a shortage in a very important necessity. And this was all a thing because of social structure so Social Structure is the most important part of a thriving civilization.

Though Social structure is the most important part of a thriving civilization, one may argue Social Structure is the least important part of a thriving civilization because you don't need to go through all that work to create an OK system and they might feel that it is unfair. Someone may argue social structure is the downfall of a civilization because enslaved people don't get right's like people in upper classes. Which is useless and just wrong. The article states “The lower class was all enslaved people. They became enslaved for different reasons, such as selling themselves (or being sold by someone else!) to pay off debt.” The text also states "The Code of Hammurabi said a husband could pay off a debt by selling his wife into slavery." This shows that lower class people were treated very unfairly and one might believe it's useless because it targets lower class people and should not be a thing so everyone is wanted the same. The text is also relevant because it indicates that people of lower class or poorer were targeted and treated unfairly for something they can't change. This might make one believe Social Structure is a bad and terrible system due to its intolerance.
