         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Gage Pickarts is 10 years old and he is in the fourth grade at Garfield Elementary in Augusta. He is the youngest of his three siblings and he plays plays basketball.  </li><li>He has Anxiety therefore school tends to be very hard for him. He struggles to take timed tests, regular tests, and he has trouble speaking in front of the class such as presentations and answering questions.  </li><li>He likes to go to the lake, play sports, playing with his dog, and enjoys reading. He also enjoys collecting pocket knives, coins, and rocks.  </li><li>His preferred learning style is hands on because he is more of a visual learner and it helps him retain the information.  </li></ul><div> </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Some of his goals include eventually being comfortable with speaking in front of the class and to be able to take tests in the classroom along with other students.  </li><li>Some behavior goals of his are to not get overwhelmed in the classroom as well as not stressing over tests before they are given.  </li><li>His goals related to his passions are that he would like to collect at least one of every type of coin and put them into a collector's box.  </li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>This student will receive breaks right before recess to have the opportunity to write in a journal about things that they felt during the day or just for a break. </li><li>I would also create a worry box to put a piece of paper and write what they worry about and time to come talk to me about it or show them that not everything they put in that box is worth worrying about.  </li><li>This student and I could create a connection by making time each day or every other day to talk about feelings or things that are stressing them out  </li></ul><div> <br><br></div><ul><li>As a teacher I could help this student by pairing them in groups instead of letting them choose because this student might fear being left out, this could also create new friendships.  </li><li>Allow the students to sit with who they want so that the student is has anxiety is able to sit with those people they feel familiar with.  </li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<ul><li>Some ideas on how to motivate this student include  </li><li>Giving them time to do an activity that calms them down or helps with their anxiety.  </li><li>Create a “safe place” for this student to go if they feel they are overwhelmed.  </li><li>Lastly when they finish an assignment, they will receive a little bit of time to pay with a toy of their choosing to help them calm down.  </li></ul><div><br></div>]]></description>
