In this novel, we see what is a lie that will protect each other or what is a lie that is unjust and will betray others.

The readers, who believe that he lies for good reasons, think that Huck uses lying as a way to enhance the adventures that he goes on. It definitely speaks on society in a larger aspect because the treatment Jim endures is socially acceptable. There is definitely a large moral dilemma in the societal norms. Tom's actions are a reminder to the reader that though Jim becomes like a friend, prejudices are still evident. Tom's actions are wrong and his age does not justify them.
