This is the last offering in the series this school year, we will look to contract with Shannon at SIS again next year.

• To introduce TAR as teaching and learning stance that  allows for exploration of multiple questions in a school year
• To solve relevant problems identified in a timely manner
• To promote equity and culturally responsive teaching
• To support teacher resilience and growth in overwhelming times while connecting district initiatives

Using the guiding text “Grading for Equity” (Feldman, 2019) we will deepen our understanding of how traditional grading practices inhibit equity in our schools and disempower students and teachers. Through our learning we will work to identify ways in which we can change our own practices and policies to be more just and promote student agency.

Together we will learn more about the importance of clear targets in the formative assessment process and how to design and use learning targets that actually drive teaching student learning forward. Over the course of two months we will explore topics such as...

This spring, our pilot team, including ISD assessment and literacy coordinators, a district principal, and instructional coach, has taken part in MAISA's Leader Series. Together, we're engaging in and learning more about a model for reflective practices and strategic planning to foster an inclusive environment for learning, collaboration, and networking, with a focus on enhancing professional learning systems.
