         <description><![CDATA[<p>In March we met for the final time for our book study and continued to learn about ways to create more student led classrooms using UDL and Blended Learning. In session 3 we specifically focused on practices to shift:</p><ul><li><p>From teachers initiating parent communication to learners owning the conversation about their progress.</p></li><li><p>From teacher project design to student-led project-based learning.</p></li></ul><p><br/></p><p>Throughout our book study we had wonderful discussion and deep learning. Here's some of what participants had to say:</p><ul><li><p>"I was invigorated to try some new things and it was pretty easy to implement."</p></li><li><p>"I learned practical ways for students to take more ownership of their learning."</p></li><li><p>"I'm excited about providing real-time feedback and making direct instruction differentiated and bite-sized."</p></li><li><p>"This was awesome! What a great way to model [the content] for participants."</p></li></ul><p><br/></p>]]></description>

During our time at the "education booth" we met several newcomer families from Washtenaw County and connected them to resources for housing, secondary education and ESL classes.</p>]]></description>
