My classmates also helped me with my essay for the boy because I did not get the questions. My classmates also helped me with the padlet because I did not get what we had to do for this assignment. The most challenging part of this year is is that when we had to write essays for the books that had read. Another challenging thing this year was that when I had think of writing haikus because I could not think of anything. Another thing that I had a hard time with in the beginning of the year is writing sentences for our words

I feel that I have made multiple good friends at this school. Another thing I felt that I have improved at is math I have learned a lot more math facts and formulas thanks to Mr. Sauce. The last thing that I feel that I improved most at was learning about the world and I’ve learned alot about the earth and it’s places this school year. Two things I learned about myself this year was that not everybody will like me but if I amwith people who do my life will be happy and easy. I also learned that even though I dont like the class I will have to persevere through it and get good grades to get in to college. I’ve learned alot of new and interesting things this year and I feel that hey will stick with me for the rest of my life.

One of my favorite projects this year has been the Roald Dahl boy writing assignment. On a scale of 1-10, I enjoyed this project at a level of about nine, because while I enjoyed writing about the themes of the book, there’s always a bit of anxiety. This piece of writing we did was fun due to it having very strong themes that were interesting to write about. Personally, the most challenging part of this year was staying focused. I had trouble staying focused this year because the class felt a little slow and boring on some days. However, when I was engaged and writing on one of the big projects, such as the choose your own story project, I had a lot of fun.

Over the year I have learned to be more confident on speaking to people and presenting myself and having a discussion with people if I need help. Luka kawamoto was my vocabulary partner when nobody else was and so was Aiden Cargo. The most challenging part about this year was learning new words and writing an essay. Three things I didn’t know how to do, but now know how to do are to write an essay, speak to others, and how to play chess. I helped my friend Luka study for his vocabulary test. I got a high score on my presentation and also got a high score on my vocabulary test. I learned that I was good at math and good at learning the human body. One of my favorite books this year we read was The Giver by Lewis Lauren because when people had to follow certain rules
Jonas, the main character, didn’t follow the rules and went out to go seek other feelings and adventures.

It was the best book I read this year.
14)My favorite place of the school is the wrestling room because I love to wrestle. It the most best sport I did besides football.

#13: My favorite book that we’ve read this year my favorite was definitely Boy by Roald Dahl. This book was so interesting and had a lot of funny and nail bitting moments. Everyday when it was Wednesday I would be excited to come to this class because I knew we were going to read Boy.
#14 My favorite place in the school is in the little courtyard right next to the study hall. I like this place because I have had so many memories there and it is the place that I eat lunch😂. I spend time with my friends there or do homework there. It’s just a really fun place to be at.

My favorite writing assignment is this one because I get to talk about this year. Next my favorite spot in the school is the cafeteria because the atmosphere in there is very pleasing. The tree areas I most improved on is math, English, and American history. The nicest thing someone has done for is given me a pencil to write with. And the bravest thing I done this year is go into the lockers in the beginning of the year. One thing I have thought the teachers is nothing really so yeah, moving on 3 new things I’ve learned is about square roots, America’s early history and about theology I have also learned about other things but it said 3. To conclude it all this year was an amazing year

It was hard work studying 20 words definitions, but luckily there were websites to help me. I got good grades in the test so I’m all fine. When I read Roald Dahl’s Boy, it was very interesting so I give it a 9/10 beucase we had to right things down for it. It was a lot of fun reading it beucase we did fun activities with it. Also I learned more about Roald Dahl’s childhood. It was a very fun year and I can’t wait for the next year!!!

What was the best project you’ve worked on so far?

The best project I worked on was by far the CYOA project that we had just presented. I really enjoyed all aspects of this presentation and how they typed in together. You got your standard slide bit where you actually edit and shape your story, there isn’t anything inherently special with this part of the presentation but there is the challenge of linking and making sure your story runs seamlessly to every individual slide and branching storyline. Then is the actual story; what makes this presentation unique is the choices you make and how they affect the story and yourself as a whole, this presentation challenges you to innovate and be creative in what your topic is, your character, and the various diverging plot lines. This project serves to also form a bridge from which to develop essential teamwork and leadership skills you will need later in life. What made this project so special to me was that it gave almost unlimited control of the story to the student, no special topic needed, no robotic office-esque report or essay, just a story. And this is why the CYOA project was so fun for me.

On a scale of 1-10, what do you rate Roald Dahl?

I don’t have a very high opinion of Roald Dahl simply because of its contents. To me these stories are simply unentertaining. There is no real conflict, or action, or even significant events from his childhood to relate to. All the names of people in his stories are either censored or to insignificant to have any real historical importance. His stories also take place in another country in a boarding school in England during a time when institutionalized discipline was a thing. This significantly limits its relatability to me and my experiences as a kid. The book itself was good, just nothing to write home about. It was just another dime novel meant to entertain people. And so i give this book a rating of 4.

There are many things I improved in this year, however three of the best are public speaking, close reading, and writing. In this class we did a lot of class speeches and this helped me with my shyness. Another thing we did was read alongs with the book the giver which helped me pay more attention to what I am reading because I had it read to me. Lastly what helped me was writing because at the beginning of the school year we would write for 5 minutes everyday and this helped me write better. These minor things that we did in class will go a long way for me because it really helped me improve. This is what I improved this year.
-My favorite book that we read this year was the giver by Lois lowry. This was my favorite book because it had lots of suspense. The book was about a kid named Jonas who was chosen for a special job. This job was to keep bad memories so the rest of the dystopia didn’t have to suffer. Jonas then realizes because of the memories what life Could be and leaves. This book was very interesting and is now one of my favorite books.

This person was really kind hearted for doing such a thing and I really appreciate them for doing such a kind act. You never would know that such a little thing to be fixed, it can affect a person in a very dramatically way. Another thing that someone did for me was they corrected my essay, which I got an A on. The most challenging part this year for me was words that sound the same, but aren’t spelled the same. This was challenging for me because I really struggle with there and their. I believe throughout this year I improved in lots of spelling and most of all, there and their, and I ended up overcoming this struggle throughout the year and I really appreciate Ms.McClain for teaching me this and all the other things she taught me throughout the year.

Something brave or innovative I did this year was coming up with a plan on how to transfer my lunchbox to classes. I never really did this, unless it was on a gold day, but then very recently I accidentally didn’t leave my lunchbox in my locker, which is what I usually do. So when I realized I still had it after lunch, I thought that since I didn’t have enough time to put it in my locker, I would put it with my books like I would probably do. Of course I found out this wasn’t the best idea, so I decided to take it along with my backpack too. Three new things I learned I didn’t know when school began was that Roald Dahl was heavily beaten when he was a kid. I also learned what affect and effect exactly mean, and that Rome was in chaos when Julius Caesar died, according to the posters.

During tests I listen to the birds chirp and see the blue sky. I sometimes see people passing by. Those are two things like about Ms McClain’s class and why.

One a scale from 1-10, I think that I would give Boy, by Roald Dahl, a 9. It was interesting to read an autobiography on one of my favorite childhood authors. I also enjoyed the many universal themes that the book includes. Overall, I think this book was fun to read. My favorite short story would probably be the one about the Asian-American dad working at the American camps during World War 2. This story was was fascinating because I didn’t know about these camps. I also loved the poetic style of the story. This is why it’s my favorite story.

My favorite book would be the Giver. I like the giver because it’s a part of the future world and why the world is okay the way it is. It also shows a lesson showing how no one is perfect. My favorite place in the school would be the tree area in front of the science classroom. I like it because it’s quiet, peaceful, and nobody annoys me. It is also a very beautiful site of nature.

Of the books you red this year which was your favorite? Why? My favorites book is the giver by Lois Lowry. This is because it has of turns where you think one thing is going to happen but then another thing happens. It was about Jonas who got a very respected job named the receiver. The job was to keep memories of the bad and to guide the elders. Jonas gets very stressed on this job. Also there is a lot of suspension. With all of the stress Jonas realizes what life could be like and how the giver could help them. This book made me keep reading even if I didn't want too and it was very hooking that is why I like it. - A lot of the assignments this year made me improve in self skills one assignment made me learn about my grandparents so much more.I got to learn about how there life was like when they were a kid and there experiences which is why I love doing this project so much.I got to report on there job and there stories. One time she found spiders in a candy jar at a store. Overall I love my grandparents and this made me like them more. Overall it was a good project because I got to learn about them.

This year the three thing I felt I did better at was my writing, presenting, and reading skills. I felt that I have learned to write better with all the projects we’ve been doing over the year such as, our recent choose you own adventure story. My presentation skills also have enhanced a lot because of the amount of times we’ve had to share our work to other students. Also I feel a lot more confident in my reading out loud because we do it a lot in language arts and history. On a scale of 1- 10 learning about Roald Dahl’s book Boy is on the lower scale. I felt that it was a different book than I am used to and I didn’t particularly like it. All in all I would give it a 4.

This year, to be honest, was better than any other year at my past school that I attended for 8 years! I’ve wanted to go to Palma since second grade because I saw a football game with them and something about it had me written all over it. This was by far the best year I’ve ever had, when it comes to food, education, activities, and most of all PE!!! I couldn’t describe how boring the PE was at my old school. Then we got here and Mr Suacedo is the best math teacher/PE teacher I’ve ever had. Just the difference between how lively and happy people are here and at my last school my math teacher told me to stop trying in life and I would never be good at anything, well I go to a college preparatory school and get a 4.0 my first year and I play five sports while doing it so I would like my previous math teacher to see me now.
