We partner with local shelters and transitional housing programs as well as the Childcare and Head Start program to help bring in referrals. We also have a lot of referrals from current and previous clients.

We took a look at our referral process extensively as we entered year 2. Here we learned that we needed to update our policies and procedures to reflect more of a tiered approach to how we were addressing the unique needs of each referral to move away from a one size fits all approach. This worked well for us.

Because our program is strictly referral-based and not currently open to the general public. We worked diligently with our marketing department to create one-pagers and targeted marketing materials to provide to referral sources. We also thoroughly explain all of our services within our orientation PowerPoint, which we make mandatory for all of our program participants.

We are intentional in building community partnerships. This is ongoing and continual as we both introduce what we do and go deeper into what services are offered in the community so we can share with our families.

This year we've connected more with local churches within our service area to agree to allow us to use their facilities to host support groups, parent workshops, and fun networking opportunities for our families.

Bloom's FRC has a formal referral process. We've established partnerships and have MOUs in place with the school systems in the counties we serve and a few community agencies. Our referral sources refer families by completing our referral form. Our referral policy is to respond to all referrals within 24 hours of receiving the referral. Our referral form includes three levels of urgency: emergency, within 2 weeks, and 30 days.

Bloom FRC offers Triple P Discussion Groups services to families via a 2-hour small group format on commonly encountered problems. During group discussions, parents support one another by sharing and applying new parenting skills and implementing parenting plans that are generated during each session. Parents are also encouraged to exchange contact information to build rapport with those who share similar issues in dealing with child behaviors.

FRC staff attend monthly Collaborative Meetings to network with community partners, state and local leaders to build a stronger coalition to address health equity and its impact on children and families in the FRC service areas. The FRC Program has built collaborative relationships with other service providers and is also able to share and obtain resource information for families we serve.
