She mentioned she enjoyed taking a laptop home and was excited to do her homework in a different setting instead of just paper and pencil. She also explained how her teacher had different educational games that children played, taking turns to go up to their touch screen board.

Mom, born in 1977

I interviewed my mom, who was born in 1977; she said the only thing they had was blackboards. She expressed that she didn't like how messy it got, and there was always powder around. She did say it was helpful because it was big enough for the class to see. She didn't mention anything else besides that.

Cousin, born 1999

I interviewed my cousin, who was born in 1999. She said that she didn't use much technology in her early years. The teachers in her class had a projector to show the paper, and she mentioned she liked the dimmed light when the teacher used it. Dimming the lights helped her focus since it blocked off anything distracting on the walls. Her main focus was on the projector's bright light and anything the teacher was showing the class. Laptops were more visible to her in high school, and she was encouraged to bring their own if they had one, but most students couldn't afford it.

Overhead projectors were used a lot in education before computer projection came in. These were budget-friendly and provided teachers with a wide variety of activities to do with students. they were used during the 1950s-1960's.

smart boards

smart boards are boards that are touch screen, can do everything with one pen and has hyperlinks. Think of it like a huge Ipad. They were more seen in the early 2000's and everntually a bit more popular in 2010-2013. Teachers really like this board and students at well its a different way to keep children engaged in a assignment.
