         <title>My Observation of the Writing Process:</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>I observed the writing process in action during a 5th grade EL block. The students were expected to write an informative essay and the topic was given to them. The students started the first step (pre-writing) by creating a graphic organizer that includes the main idea and supporting details. The students used color codes for each paragraph. Then they transferred the information on the graphic organizer onto their first rough draft which is step two (drafting). Next, they had to check in with the teacher in order to receive feedback for what they have done so far (feedback). After checking in with the teacher they had to make the necessary changes and edit there work before turning in the final piece to the teacher. During the editing phase the students focused more on the conventions like punctuation and grammar whereas during the drafting phase they focused more on the ideas and the transitions between ideas.</div>]]></description>
