The assessment will be graded and you will be provided feedback on your submission, no later than 3 weeks after submission. Please note that your mark is always provisional, and unratified, until it has been confirmed by the relevant Academic Assessment Board. The process for this is detailed in the following; once the first marker has reached a decision about the mark and the feedback to be given, all pieces of work are collated and a sample then given to the internal moderator who reviews the marking and, as necessary, may refer work back to the Module Leader. A sample of all assignments will also be moderated by the External Examiner for that module. The External Examiner is also sent the Internal Moderator’s report. After each Academic Assessment Board, you will receive a formal notification of your ratified results via MyDMU.

If you have queries or worries about your written work and / or about any feedback you receive you are encouraged to discuss this with your personal tutor at the earliest opportunity. Although markers will endeavour to give instructive feedback, a form offers no opportunity for dialogue and clarification. It is your module leader who has the responsibility to work on aspects of your academic development. They will be able to read a selection of your assignments and the feedback you have been given so as to work with you on the best ways of responding to, and learning from, the feedback. Please remember any tutorials cannot commence within 10 workings days of submission date and where a tutorial is sought if the module is not passed, results first need to be ratified by the next exam board prior to being able to meet and discuss your work as per DMU regulations.

 Academic Offences and Bad Academic Practice

 These include but are not limited to plagiarism, cheating, contract cheating, exam cheating, collusion, copying work and reuse of your own work, poor referencing or the passing off of somebody else's ideas as your own (as defined in Chapter 4 of the General Regulations and Procedures Affecting Students). If you are in any doubt about what constitutes an academic offence or bad academic practice, you must check with your tutor.

If you are suspected of committing an academic offence you will be called to a meeting with an Academic Practice Officer (APO). APOs are based within in each faculty and it is their role to advise on how to prevent bad academic practice and academic offences and to deal with serious cases.

You can submit a draft of the critical reflection through Turnitin; this can only be 20% of the submission (600 words for level 6, 800 words for Level 7) for review and feedback by the marker

Portfolio
Mid-point of the programme you are expected to meet with your academic assessor and discuss you progress in meeting the portfolio requirements; you will have met with your practice assessor and have your mid-point competencies signed off and have 4 reflections completed and signed off also.
The approximate date for this is 25th January 2024; The completed portfolio submission date –25th April 2024
