I'm developing an app that encourage children to get out into open spaces and hunt down monsters (... would have to be very unscary) to gain points. I started with a more boring Lido based app, so this is an evolution with gamification. It would be a great activity to have as a Covid-19 P.E replacement. This is designed for children up to year 2 (aged 7).

Really liked the part about 'intercultural learning' in the lecture. In the lecture, both Collie and Lee mentioned the fact that it can be challenge, however I do believe that only through diversity (be it ethnic, cultural...), one can get a thorough overview of the perception of any given topic. It is through the different experiences people experience is what makes people unique yet connected. In addition, everyone can learn from each other.

I came across this very interesting article that talks about this.

https://thoughtcatalog.com/pablo-guevara/2015/08/the-beauty-of-diversity/

This is also something that I would like to shed light on in the 'Health Hive' project I presented last week. Everyone is different, but it is not a bad thing. And together we can bring out the best version of each other.

With this in mind, I imagined a world where the eco-system became so infected that local wildlife and animals started to mutate. I've created a series of weird hybrid animals like a bird with a cats head and a cat with a slugs head and the delightful Rat-Bee. Obviously I want this campaign to shock. Still planning on how to roll it out. I thought of maybe, speculatively, placing them as large installation-type sculptures around the town.

For the first two sections of the Workshop Challenge I looked at some examples of design that i found interesting. Although
they weren't directly related to my Idea for an Art-Pal scheme, I feel that there were still valuable lessons to be learnt.

The first example is the Elvie Breast Pump which combines the technology, healthcare, fashion and design industries to make a product that affects social change.

The second example is in the buttons used in different User Interfaces around the world. Not every country uses the same symbols. It's important to remember that when designing a website or an app, users need to feel confident using it and know where everything is. It's important not to over-design something just to be aesthetically pleasing.

Building on the project brief from Week Ten I have been developing the idea of a design toolkit to be used in an academic library. Designed for all staff to use regardless of their skill level, collaboration and input will be encouraged to continually develop the platform so it is a unique and useful resource for the library. Being web-based means that staff no longer need to save work for when they are working at a specific desk, but they will be able to do their work across the various library sites and campus.

It brings existing elements together in one place providing more value to staff and there will be a ‘Design School’ section where staff can learn more about graphic design basics, test their skills and get feedback.

I've produced some mock-ups of different sections of the platform and you can read about my process on my blog

The only thing that I don't have to back up any designs for it is being able to ask any doctors / pharmacies about the current systems that they use. Mostly because of pandemic, but also GDPR, they have no reason to tell me so I will create a scenario to fulfil the brief... which hopefully will be okay.
