What defines a president as "good" or "bad"? For example, FDR and JFK are commonly viewed by society as "good" presidents. However, FDR's New Deal greatly expanded the power of the national government, which could be viewed as alarming or concerning to some. Also, JFK was known for his extramarital affairs, so did he really have integrity? Respond to his prompt in 3-4 complete sentences.

A good or bad president is defined by the countries people. A good president would consider the people they are leading, what their needs are and how they can be met. It is also based upon how many "positive" things they get done during their term. Although one person could never make an entire country happy, they do their best to make decisions that the majority of the people support. They put this country first before helping another.

What defines a good or bad president is really how much knowledge someone has in areas that he has to make decisions over, if the president didn't know what he was doing, or had a plan to make things better, then hes getting nowhere. He needs skill and thought of how to do things out side of office so he can think as if he was the one who was going to vote. He needs to have accomplished things before he was president and , actually made a difference then so he can make a difference now. Someone who actually cares about the people hes being in charge of.

A president is defined as good or bad by the people they lead. What president's may or may not have done outside of office does not matter to many people. What matters to supporters is what that president gets done in their time in office. The president is just another everyday person, except that they are given the grand responsibility of leading a nation and must make difficult decisions that are or will be controversial. A president can be good or bad depending on the light they are viewed in as all legislation and all decisions have a negative side as well as a positive side. Ask someone who was benefited by the positive side of legislation what their opinion of the president is and they will surely give a positive review; the opposite can be said for those affected by the negative side of legislation. President's that are viewed as indisputably good or bad would have to have made some very popular or very unpopular decisions and would have many supporters or many critics.

What makes a good or bad president is all how he deals with situations concerning the country. A good president will look at what is best for the people and make that decision along side his other government officials as best as they can. Also I think a good president will look after his own country first before looking after another. Our last few presidents haven't been that great about that.

A good president should not let more things go bad in the country. I think your personal life will affect the way people look and think of you

I don’t think a president’s personal life should affect the people of the country aside from hype without reason. For example, Clinton lead his presidency without going to war. A good or bad president isnt necessarily someone who presents good or bad morals, but if he may impose or force them onto the people of the country. In a democracy a good president's decisions should be popular among the people who voted him into office.

How good or bad a president is depends on how popular his decisions are with the people. If he makes a decision that leads to economic growth, peace, wealth, and good lives for Americans, he will probably be viewed as good. However, if he makes an unpopular choice, or doesn't do 'enough' for the country he will probably be viewed as bad or ineffective. The man himself might not have been a great role model, but if he made a decision that the country supported, then he will be remembered as a good president.

How a president is considered good or bad is by the way he leads the country. If people believe a president is a good president is by making sure he is being fair with almost every decision he makes and making sure he is doing the best for the country and putting the citizens interests before he makes the final decision. A bad president is a president who doesn't lead good and is someone who takes advantage of the job and thinks the rules don't apply to him, we don't need a president like that, nobody does. And if he had extramarital affairs then that's not integrity thats not even a good president

A president is good or bad depending on how they represented the people that voted them into office. If they did what they said they would, and do it satisfactorily, they might be called a good president. Also, if they make good decisions. A president may be called good later ,even if he wasn't hugely popular in his own time, if he makes good decisions that pay off well in the long term. What a president does or doesn't do outside of office should have no effect on his popularity, as long as it doesn't affect his presidential performance.

The president should set a good example on how to be an American citizen where ever he goes. To be a good president I think you need to have integrity and to be able to admit when you messed up.
