It used to be consistent with whichever block you were allocated for the morning but got changed recently for consistent cover. Even if we alternated weeks between us (those who start early) of being on idle for the first half an hour. Equally, when I have had long periods of leave and come back to work, I am mostly on phone slots from 9am and don't have a chance to catch up with anything before starting.
