This band is from New Orleans, and consisted of 4 members. Another band was Edward "Kid" Ory's.

Edward was the first great jazz trombonist, and was in high demand in the 1920s. His band also had 4 members. Jazz was the most popular form of music in the 1920s, so it makes sense why these bands were so popular.
