Using your brain waves as a password?

Researchers at Binghamton University have discovered that, with a bit of training, your device can identify you based on the way your brain reacts to certain words. So basically instead of having to remember that super long password for something you can react to something a certain way and your account will unlock. This would also help in solving crimes. “If someone’s fingerprint is stolen, that person can’t just grow a new finger to replace the compromised fingerprint — the fingerprint for that person is compromised forever. Fingerprints are ‘non-cancellable.’ Brainprints, on the other hand, are potentially cancellable. So, in the unlikely event that attackers were actually able to steal a brainprint from an authorized user, the authorized user could then ‘reset’ their brainprint,” said Sarah Laszlo, an assistant professor of psychology and linguistics involved in the project. -
Zachary Witaszek

Remember those tubes from the movie polar express? Well the designers at SpaceX are making that a reality. http://www.spacex.com/hyperloopalpha Now we have a better way to travel, if you want to be able to travel from New York to Los Angeles in under an hour, Hyperloop is for you. The tube is out back, 11 feet in diameter, 60 feet long, the unfinished end spiraling into wide ribbons of steel—like a gigantic Pillsbury dough container with its seams gaping open. Behind the tube is a big blue tent known as the robot school, where autonomous welders wheel or crawl along, making the tubes airtight. The goal is to put tracks and electromagnets inside the tube and vacuum the air out. Ultimately, capsules will scream through the center of such a tube at 700 miles per hour on a cushion of air—a way to get from A to B faster and more efficiently than planes or trains. - Zach Cowen

The iPhone 8 is going to be mark Apple's 10th anniversary. The iPhone is going to have the touch ID fingerprint in the back of the phone under the glass. The phone is going to be be bigger than the 5.5 inch phone. It is going to include a faster A11 Processor. The coolest thing about this iPhone is it's going to be water resistant. That's a good thing for people who want to take their iPhone to the beach water. There are some rumors that the iPhone is going to have a vertical rear camera. It could sell up of $1,000, more expensive than the other iPhones. A smart home is a technological advance and people believe that in the future everyone will have a smart home. With a smart house, you can change basically anything via blue tooth or WiFi with a device. Including temperature, lighting, security, and safety. Some smart homes will be able to alert you when your fridge is running low on food, and you will be able to control your kitchen with just a remote. " In the next few years, they’ll increasingly be able to follow curving roads, change lanes, safely navigate intersections, and stop and start on their own — but they’ll still require human supervision, and may continue to hand over control to a human driver when they encounter complex situations." -John Markoff reported in The New York Times. To add to this, statistics are shown that in year 2020 we are expected to have around 10 million cars with the self-driving features. This will decrease less accidents because, computers itself cannot be "distracted".
- Autumn Morse TB5
