you got a decent amount of the model done, saucer all done and the cup is hollowed out.
however the handle is not complete.

You have managed to get the shape of the overall mug and plate correctly even more so on the plate.

The model is fit for purpose because you have managed to look closely to what it is supposed to be and have modeled it rather well. However the plate wouldn't be able to hold any spilled tea.

The model's external shape was done reasonably well, it resembled the source material enough. The model, speaking in terms of visual would be fit for purpose as its clear to what is supposed to be, which is a mug on plate. 

The model however could include the actual hollowed out inner section, as well as a handle, the mug itself could probably have more overall width to the shape.

How is the model fit for purpose? Well since its a cup I would assume you would drink from it.and the design of it makes it look like it would be made for a restaurant.
How could the model be improved? The plate could be a little bit better done but it fits well with the theme. Also the cup could look a little bigger. Also less polygons the better makes it harder to texture and render.

The saucer + the mug look a bit too polygonal, but that is easily fixed/rectified. The heights of the animations is well done but with a few more tweaks it could be a bit better.
