The result of the monthly reading exam was generally satisfying. There were some slight mistakes, first, due to vocabulary reasons. I misinterpreted the meaning of "intersection" and "curating" in the text. Next time, clearer understanding of the vocabs in text would help answering in short answer questions and true or false justification. Second, the referring to text in some of the questions were incomplete or inaccurate. Completion of answers and specific quotation would help in next time.

U.S. citizens were being ignorant and pursued the so-called freedom despite the soaring cases. They were underestimating the seriousness of the epidemic and didn't believe the government. This source showed the conflict between citizens and the authority with the States.

COVID Writing Task

Hey bro,

I know you've been doubting the vaccine and holding your concerns lately. We all know that the vaccine won't do much harm to our health, despite you refusing it for thinking it's unnecessary. But I'm telling you now there are also some benefits of getting vaccinated, and I hope you can get to know them.

At the very first, the vaccine is acting as your insurance, ensuring your health during the pandemic. Although it's not 100% safe after vaccination, the chance of getting the virus will significantly fall after you getting vaccinated. And even if you get the COVID unfortunately, those vaccinated would show less serious symptoms. You do should take the vaccine for your health, because it's always better than nothing.

Also, getting vaccinated will provide you with convenience in daily life. As you are vaccinated, you can actually wear your mask less in some particular places, according to the policies of our school and the New York City. Mask sucks, and I believe you don't want to wear them all the time. Plus, the NYC is limiting the access of restaurants and cinemas for unvaccinated people, so the vaccine will also help. I don't want to enjoy my meal inside the warm room while seeing you standing outside in the cold wind. So, believe it or not, the vaccine definitely helps!

After all, the vaccination is your own choice, and it all depends on you. I just wanted to let you see the positive sides of it, and I believe that you can make your right choice. Have a nice day and hope to catch up with you later!

Your buddy
