This battle was a major German offensive during December 1944- January 1945. Germany was aiming to weaken or split the allied forced through capturing Antwerp and cutting off troops that were north of the German boundaries. Although Germany has slight initial success the allied forces quickly stopped/ controlled Germany’s advances. By the end the battle had involved 600,000 American troops and was considered the bloodiest battle fought by the US during the entire duration of WWII. In the end the allied forces prevailed and Germany was depleted of armored forces.
