This person helps people of the past to write letters to others as the customers did not have a good education and did not know how to write chinese calligraphy. Title: Rail Mall – The Last Train
Address: 380 Upper Bukit Timah Rd, Singapore 678040

I like this painting as the painting speaks a thousands of words itself. The phrase “The Last Train” shows that this painting is related to Bukit Timah’s history. Not long ago, trains used to run from Tanjong Pagar Station to Woodlands with one stop at Bukit Timah Station. KTM Train No. 6543 was the last train to call at the station on 30 June 2011. The railway ceased operations thereafter. At the other end of the carpark, on the wall of the other strip of The Rail Mall, was another set of murals. The largest artwork featured a wooden house with traditional attap roof. It looked so realistic from afar that I did not realised it was painted. The Rail Mall may not hold as much weight in our history books as the Tanjong Pagar Railway Station, but it’s the closest it can get. Even though the railway tracks are gone, the railway bridge and rustic, tranquil atmosphere remain.

We also celebrate many festivals and have public holidays for the different cultural celebrations ,schools also celebrate racial harmony day where students would dress up in their ethnic costumes and come to school with our costumes on. I chose the topic 'Housings in Singapore' for WA because I am very interested about the different types of buildings in Singapore, whether it be past or present. Take the HDB buildings for example, when though their all the same type of housings, the way the HDBs are built different from one another to represent the area they are in. Have a look at Potong Pasir, the HDBs roofs are slanted to give it a more unique look.
