This chapter will teach you about marriage, what they did in their marriage and how they lived,it also tells you about how important their family was to them. The marriages were arranged by the families of the bride and the groom. When the young man wanted to get married the man's family chose the bride. The Aztecs also permitted the men to practice polygamy which was when the men could marry more than one wife. Even among the commoners the Aztec wedding was as elaborate as the families could afford. On the fifth day the couple emerged and attended another grand banquet then they would settle down on a piece of land in the groom's calpulli. Except if the marriage was unhappy either the spouse could ask for a divorce.
