The Global Spread of English and Its Implications for ELT-Week 2: Monologue Assignment l

In my monologue video, I focused on my experiences while learning English and how I can apply what I have learned to my teaching approach in the future-by revising them, the globalisation of the English language and its implications and benefits for English language teaching.

I used to think that English is not much talked across the world and I believed English is just used in USA and United Kindom. So, I've always dreamt up living in these countries to become easily a native speaker. However, as I learned that English is a key that open all the doors, I stopped thinking like that. University life has contributed to my perspective a lot.

Now, as with the courses I took and learned invaluable things, I mentioned how I'm going to cope with working in a diverse classroom that mixed up with different levels of English speakers as a future English Teacher in my monologue. Being aware of different accents and to be able to understand them is a crucial duty of the English teacher according to my opinion. So, I implied English teachers should always follow the current not to have difficulties.

I hope you enjoyed my video, thanks for sparing your time to watch it and read this.

In my monologue video, I focused on the role of native and non-native speakers in ELT and the language and culture's effects on language learning in the classrooms. I mentioned about theories that has influenced me-which I plan to benefit from them when I'm going to be an English teacher. Additionally, I meantioned about some strategies that can be used in the classrooms including both native and non-native speakers in ELT classrooms. These kinds of strategies contribute a lot to a teacher's teaching abilities no matter what he or she is a native or non-native speaker of English. Being aware of this, we can improve our teaching style easier.
