I couldn’t have got through these three years as easily without their support and i want to say a massive thanks to them. Hope you guys love year 10 and meet new people! You’re all amazing friends! Thank you to Mr McBride for sticking with us all over all three years and giving us the best start in year 7, although we could be very challenging and annoying at times. I’ve had a wonderful three years and a great experience with all of you, when I came to the school I was hoping to make some new friends and didn’t end up making too many really strong relationships in my form but soon I branched out and met all of my closest friends from other forms. We have helped each other in arguments and other things, have been to the movies, and just hung out together all lunch. What can I say about you? 

You’ve probably been one of the noisiest, happiest, energetic year groups I’ve ever had. I have loved every minute of having you all in Middle School and your visits to my office, to sort out friendship issues, grumbles or just to have a good chat. 

With your crazy bravery at Patterdale, your sporting achievements, your incredible singing and musical talents (especially watching you dance and jive your way across the stage in Grease) you are all phenomenal, and my pride in you all has grown daily. 

I know you’ll work your socks off in the next phase of school, and I know that you’ll do it with happiness, commitment and with the support of great friendships.

After I returned from my maternity leave in Y9 I can honestly said I couldn’t recognise most of you .... not because I’d forgotten, but you’d grown up so much! You have all really matured this year and have worked so hard on you DofE sections. I’m sorry that we didn’t get the chance to do our expeditions (whether you are sorry as well I’m not so sure!). You have risen to the challenge of online learning during the Coronavirus Pandemic and made my job much easier. You have been a credit to us and set the bar high for the younger years. Three years ago, a group of nervous, and not so nervous, little year 7s arrived. In the time since we have been joined by new faces who became friends, while some of our starting number found their paths leading elsewhere. Throughout, it has been a privilege to be your form tutor and see you mature into the people you are today. Between you there is a wealth of talent, humour and kindness that stands you in good stead to achieve whatever you set your minds to.

I want to wish all of you the very best for your GCSE years, and I have every confidence that you will all do yourselves proud, as I am proud to have seen how far you have come. ​

I remember the first time I asked you to get out your reading books during form time and we’d have some ‘quiet reading’. I couldn’t believe that you all sat in silence and read! It was a very strange experience – no other group had ever done that! Could a class really be this good and well-behaved? Well, the answer was yes….and you have all remained an exceptionally polite Form throughout the year.

You all have your own individual strengths and qualities, but what emanates from you most of all, is your kindness and friendship for one another. It has been an absolute pleasure to be your Form Tutor, and I couldn’t have asked for a more thoughtful, respectful and friendly bunch to meet up with every morning.  I wish each and every one of you, a lovely summer holiday and the very best of luck over the next 2 years.

I was so excited to get my own form again this year after not having one for so long and you did not disappoint! You are certainly a unique bunch and I will not forget your wonderful characters in a hurry. I love that you all get on so well and look after each other, and me when it’s needed! Ammaarah and Fatima are literally joined at the hip as we all know – yes, everyone falls out from time to time but you always manage to sort things out without too many dramatics and intervention from your teachers.
I will miss the lookout on the door at PM reg, and booting out everyone’s friends from other forms! Trixie – thank you for the plastic babies and unique dancing talents, my mini book club – keep sending me the recommendations. Hopefully when you get to year 10, Abby will find something other than crisps for breakfast, and Ai might actually be on time!  
I have really enjoyed getting to now you all better and I know you will all do really well in your new forms next year as you start your GCSE courses.

When I found out on the first day in Y8, that Mrs Shafiq was my form teacher, I didn’t know what to think, because she had been my Spanish teacher the year before, but I didn’t know what she would be like as a form teacher. She turned out to be the best form teacher and she was really supportive throughout the 2 years. He also featured in a presentation about Montserrat in geography this year.🥔

This year at Writers’ Retreat someone took a photo of a mirror and we were all convinced that there was a ghost in the mirror. There obviously wasn’t but we were all very excited and it made for a fun evening or two ghost hunting and quizzing our older friends about previous ghost stories while also trying to solve the mystery of what it actually was.

During the production of Grease in year 8 there was a rumour that the green room under the theatre was haunted. This was because a creepy mask kept moving around when we were all on stage. We later found out it was just someone paying tricks but it was fun to make up stories about what it could have been 👻
