I fully endorse that fashion can help us to embrace fearlessness and show to the world our personality. Even though many people are against fashion, I believe that humanity has the right to express itself integrally including their clothing style. For example, Rihanna’s Savage X Fenty lingerie collection invites its customers to celebrate fearlessness, confidence, and inclusivity. The last runway collection includes models of all sizes, genders, and races for North American society, where the industry of fashion tends to be rough.  Another positive impact is sustainable fashion. People consume clothing, they have basic needs that fashion can address. Sustainability works both ways here; as people can sustain the environment by addressing their clothing choices, fashion can sustain the environment in various ways like reuse old clothes or fabrics to create new models. In fashion, trends come and go because of the impact of media on our lives. The hit US TV drama Mad Men, which is set in the early 1960s, has had a big influence on high street fashion. Actress such as Christina Hendricks has helped to bring back full skirts, longer hemlines, and cropped cardigans as well as almost single-handedly brought back the curvy fit in the fashion market. The micro trends are also changing because of the internet. (Anon., n.d.) Finally, fashion is closely related to culture and it’s made of factors like society, education, values, and norms, and so on. Since fashion deals with how we look and what we wear; it is largely influenced and controlled mainly by the customers. Lately, Fashion is becoming a fast-paced, diverse and trendy industry every passing day. However, everything you see on the rack with discounted prices might also have a cost for you in psychological terms. Some studies said that ''Since fashion and discount shops usually make the minds of buyers (mostly young people) stimulate dopamine, the majority of them are more likely to make shopping one of the ways to deal with and eliminate anxiety, depression, worry, and stress. ‘And this ends up becoming a vicious addiction cycle. Something that starts as a great escape ends up becoming an obsession. Not that cool, right? The majority of teenagers around the world today have low self-esteem. And this has been contributed by the fashion industry. Because of the unreal body expectations that publicity shows. Nonetheless, it is well known that the Fashion industry has a negative environmental impact. Believe it or not, each year the fashion industry consumes more energy than flying and shipping combined. In fact, 10% of the world’s total greenhouse gas emissions come from the world of fashion. That’s almost as much as the whole of China (12.5%). We all want to look good, but when we’re shopping, we have to know what it is the real cost of our clothes. The fashion industry can be a great asset or liability in our lives. It all depends on what we see and use it. You don’t have to spend loads of cash buying things to impress people. Therefore as a final piece of advice: don’t get into the business of chasing butterflies. Like the weather, the fashion industry is changing all the time. What was fashionable in the 80s can be fashionable tomorrow. Live a healthy balanced life. And most importantly, enjoy it with your loved ones.
