Analytic rubric provides clear criterion to assess student’s work and the quality of their performance level on the criterion. Analytic rubrics are suitable for most of the classroom purposes. As analytic rubric focuses on each criterion separately, so teacher can assess what part of student’s work needs more attention. Analytic rubric is a good form of formative assessment for literacy needs of students. The procedure of using analytic rubrics for assessment is a cohesive process rather than using number of assignments with related but different criterion (Brookhart, 2013).

Annotated work samples in assessment portfolioshelps to document student’s learning on specific curriculum outcomes in a systematic way (Danielson & Abrutyn, 1997).The reflective comments on the written work of the students will inform them about their achievement of the curriculum objectives. The portfolios will include annotated work samples for different types of written work done by the students according to the curriculum specifications. Annotated work samples of students in assessment portfolios helps teachers to demonstrate and held as an evidence for student’s mastery in specific curriculum area (Danielson & Abrutyn, 1997).
