Contradictions a) Blanche thinks that Stella's relationship with Stanley is not healthy because Stanley is constantly aggressive and violent not only with his wife but with everyone. And even though he treats her badly, she always goes back to him because Stella is attracted to Stanley's animalistic characteristics and she also is afraid of being alone, that's why she believes Stanley over her sister.

Contradictions b) 1- In her past she used her sexuality to obtain what she wanted, it was basically having a shelter and feeling that she was not alone.

2- When she used her sexuality with Stanley in order to feel accepted and also for creating a good impression and win his trust.

3- With Mitch she used her sexuality the other way around as she pretended to be a virgin in order to grap his attention.

Contradictions c) She criticizes her sister by being with Stanley but her past relationships with men where also based on interest and not love. And also even though she states Stanley is a caveman and has an animalistic personality, she flirts with him.

Contradictions d) The description of the moth is well fitted because even though she always wants to give a good impression (butterfly) she had something in her interior that was dark and made her a moth.

E) Yes, but also the fact that Stella believed Stanley over her. Before the rape Blanche already affected by her past, it was after the rape that she finally lost her mind and went mad, ending in a madhouse.

Her loneliness and isolation

(A) Does the way Blanche speaks in any way isolate her from those around her?

The way Blache speaks does isolate her from those around her, basically this happens because Blanche's education was completely different, she grew in a rich family meaning that she uses a really formal way of speaking. All of this creates a big contrast between her and the rest. She uses words such as "pig", "cave man" and "animal" to describe Stanley; with this she feels superior than those around her.

(B) Do her values (what she thinks is important in life) alienate her from people she meets?

(C) What draws Blanche and Mitch together?

Blanche and Mitch are drawn together basically because they don't want to be alone. In the case of Mitch his mother is ill and she doesn't have too much time left. In Blanche's case she has no where to go and she needs to settle down. Each member of her family has died, except from Stella but she already has a family.

(D) What does she want from Mitch? do you think the kind of relationship she hopes for its possible?

Blanche wants something serious with Mitch, she wants a relationship that gives her stability and that assures that she has someone to hold on and a real place to stay. The kind of relationship she wants is possible because by being together they will have a company which assures that they won't be lonely.

A)

She was a very sensitive person, which grew up which different conditions than Stanley. We learned that she didn't have a good reputation in Laurel after taking up residence at the Seedy Flamingo Hotel and having a relationship with a 17 year old. Stella admits that Blanche has her problems but explains them as a result of Blanche's tragic young marriage to a homosexual man.

B)

Blanche lost Belle Reve due to the high amount of deaths which appeared to be very expensive. Her family didn't have enough money to develop all death procedures and therefore she was'nt able to keep Belle Reve with her salary of a school teacher.

C)

Blanche relationship with Allan began when they teenagers; he was a poetic man whom Blanche fell in love with and married. , of the important events when she discoveres him with a male friend in bed. Then when she told him what she saw he couldn't accept the fact that his girlfriend knew the truth and so he committed suicide. Which lead blanche to lost her sexual innocence.

D) After Allans death, Blanche actions started to be different due to the change of her sexual innocense; she had sex for favours. The people from Laurel had a completely different impression of her due to her attitude and actions. Despite that, she tries to change her past when she arrives to new orleans so people would be able to see her as she wanted to.
