Martin is very good at making the main character pop out. What I mean by that is most Characters are almost always the outlier or ostracised. In this case it would be Teddy for reasons.

This not only connects us with the main character almost instantly but it forces us to label the characters separating themselves from the main as villians. This in terms throws us off.

In this film it happened frequently and Honestly I never knew I could switch sides so many times Martin intentionally makes it hard for you to decide and I enjoyed that throughout the whole movie in the end it’s the least expected character (depending on how they’re portrayed).

This is my favorite part about the movie you can decide whether or not the ending you chose is to your liking. Which one is most suitable for you.

Even the the author shows his true intentions through the scene and the ending is apparent you still decide the ending you want because you like it most.

I really love this and thats what Martin did great.

In this case is it better to live as the bad guy your whole life and live with the trauma or is it better just to forget about it?
