         <title>The firing on Fort Sumter April 1861</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>President Lincoln made the decision to resupply fort Sumter.<br>On the first attempt to resupply the ship with supplies was turned away by rebel guns.<br>Negotiations were made to try to stop tensions but failed. This angered the confederate president which caused him to tell his people to open fire on fort Sumter. After the firing of fort Sumter the united states was divided into the north and south which started the civil war. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Lincoln  administration was aware that the confederate's were going to start a military in Texas.<br>So many union men were sent down the Sabine river in gunboats with the  intention of reducing Fort Griffin. As they were approaching the Fort <br>they became under fire by only 44 confederate men. many of the union men were not prepared which caused 230 causalities and 200 prisoners.  <br>Confederate victory .</div>]]></description>
