My dad is a crazy Elvis fan, and he has always played Elvis music in the house, on his guitar, and just sang his songs. So, because I have grown up listening to it, it reminds me of a lot of happy memories and Elvis will always make me think of my dad! Some of my favorite songs are, I Want You I Need You I Love You, Blue Hawaii, Love Me, Can't Help Falling In Love, and Teddy Bear- just to name a small few!

Jailhouse Rock!

Post 1: Adventure!
To me, life is so boring without adventure. I think there is so much value in getting out into the world and into nature and discovering and trying new things! I love to hop in the car with friends and/or family and take on a new spot such as a new ski slope, surf spot, a place in nature, a restaurant, or just go for an aimless ride and make new friends along the way! Night ocean swims are definitely a go-to for me. Getting that rush from adventure absolutely comes from stepping out of your comfort zone- you never know what something will be like unless you try it! Have you done something out of your comfort zone this week?

Post 2: RIVER!!!
Speaking of adventure, one of my very favorite places in the entire world is the river! My entire family and all of our best friends head to our little spot in central California on the river a couple times every summer for endless fun and laughs! Our family has been going for generations, and I was only five weeks old when I went on my first trip! I guess you could say that we have river water running through our veins ;) We camp in our huge group and we spend our long summer days chilling on the beach, going on boat rides, skiing, wake boarding, inner tubing, swimming, eating good food, sun bathing, rope swinging, running through the orchards, and laughing around the campfire. All of my time spent here is definitely some of my favorite life memories.

Post 1: U S A
I am proud to be an American. I am so blessed by God to be able to live freely in this safe country where I have the personal right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness! I think that people often take the greatness of our country so for granted- I know I do sometimes. It bothers me to see how many people can only find things to complain and whine about the very country that allows them to think and speak for themselves. I am also very thankful for our strong military and those serving within it that put their lives at risk every day to protect the United States. I think it is very important to recognize and remember how wonderful it is to live where we do and to be able to take a step back and see the good.

Post 1: Fulfillment
So many people seem to be searching for a life purpose and fulfillment in some not so fulfilling ways. I personally achieve this through my relationship with Jesus Christ and all the joy that He has allowed me to experience in my life. Knowing that Jesus literally died for you and wants a relationship with you and to have you in His kingdom forever can really change your perspective on life! I think there would be a lot less hurt in this world if everybody knew how valuable they are and that they were created in God's image and are called to live an amazing life!

I like the pop country stuff, but I'm way more into the "river vibes" country if you know what I mean ;) Songs with soul and lyrics about dirt roads and rivers, summertime, love, good friends and family, and America are where it's at for me because it reminds me so much of my happy summer river days with the fam! But, like I said, I also love a whole bunch of other country songs! Some artists that I really like are Florida Georgia Line, Luke Bryan, Kenny Chesney, Keith Urban, Jon Pardi, and Jason Aldean. ( for the record if you count Jack and Diane and/or Sweet Home Alabama as country songs I LOVE EM )

In regards to movies, I like a few oldies like The Parent Trap and a couple 80s movies, and I really like movies that make me laugh like Daddy's Home, all the Disney movies because I liked them when I was little (HANNAH MONTANA THE MOVIE YESS), and a couple girly movies like 10 Things I Hate About You and The Longest Ride. I love Soul Surfer and Chasing Mavericks and movies based in other time periods. I like "crying movies" sometimes but not always- I usually would rather have a good laugh! If you want to watch a horribly sad movie, though, watch Gifted, I balled the whole time- it's the saddest movie I have ever seen. OH and I DESPISE scary movies ;)

Post 1: Relationships
Relationships are without a doubt the best part of life. I totally believe that as long as you are surrounded by the people that you love the most, it doesn't always matter where you are or what you are doing to have a good time ;) People have the power to make or break how your feeling and a good friend is for sure the best medicine. It is easy to get caught up in the business of our world, and I know that I can get upset or down by just removing myself to get day-to-day tasks done. It is so crucial to be able to take a step back and remember what is truly most important and take time to invest in that. I try to make it a point to spend more energy and time in my relationships and having fun with the people I love then in stressing about tasks to check off on a to-do list. Of course we need to make time to do the things we need to do, but keeping my priorities in line and spending time in my relationships makes me feel my happiest. As my mom often says, it's all about balance!

Post 2: Abortion
This is not my favorite topic to talk about, but I do feel strongly about it. The entirety of abortion in my eyes is very inhumane, immoral, and just downright upsetting. I absolutely feel that we should not have the right to rip a helpless human with a literal beating heart from his/her mother's perfect sanctuary of a womb. What I think a lot of people don't often realize is how conscious an unborn child actually is. I am in a child development class this year and we spent quite some time in prenatal development. Did you know that a fetus is already recognizing the voices of loved ones and sounds of music, developing sleeping patterns, showing preferred handedness while sucking his/her thumb, dreaming, developing likings for various foods, practicing opening/closing the mouth and swallowing, and voluntarily opening and closing the eyes when exposed to different amounts of light?!?! So incredible!! The crazy thing is that as you may be imagining these things to be happening with a full term baby, actually some of these things are beginning in the 1st trimester! Just as we would not end the life of a little baby outside of a mother's body, I feel that we should not allow ourselves to believe the lie that says it is okay to end the life of an innocent baby just because it is still in the womb.

I almost didn't include this because it is extremely hard to watch, but has good information and real footage.
PS: ignore the emotion based comments and outside clips at the beginning and end of the video, just focus on the facts :)

Post 1: Equality
A lot of people these days spend a lot of time complaining about equality and unfair treatment of women, different races, etc. I feel that having this attitude often completely disregards how awesome our lives our and the true luxury of living in a place where we have incredible rights with widespread equality that is still expanding. It's really cool to see people coming together and encouraging each other and "spreading the love" so to speak rather than griping about who has more of what like two little kids fighting over who got the bigger half of the cookie. It's so important to be able to keep our focus on the light in our lives and be content with where we are, otherwise we will never be happy. And always remember, no matter what people say, you are VALUABLE!!

Post 2: Acai Bowls!!!
ACAI BOWLS ARE MY JAM I love em! I am a fruit girl for sure, love any fresh fruit to snack on or have in a smoothie or whatever. Acai bowls just take that love through the roof! It's an art really, there are so many ways you can make them! Most people have tried the classic "açai" base, of course, but if you haven't tried the "pitaya" base, you've got to try it! It is another exotic fruit like the açai berry but it is a little bit more tangy and it is neon pink! Definitely worth a try but the classic is a no brainer. My favorite places to grab a bowl are Banzai Bowls and Jan's Health Bar. **SIDE NOTE not quite on topic but related if you are looking for a bomb green juice I recommend the toxin flush from Nekter!! SO GOOD

Post 1: Beach Boys!
The Beach Boys is another one of those bands that I just can't listen to without smiling :))) Another one of my family's favorites and reminder of happy days of my childhood, I can pretty much sing the words to any of their hits and I just love it! When I hear the Beach Boys I think of long, happy, summer days, and I also think of the 60s surfer era which I just love the whole essence of. It seems like it would be so darn rad to experience! Did you know that only one of the Beach Boys actually surfed, and he drowned? So crazy! But beside that weird fact (haha), I can listen to this band any time and have a blast. Such a solid group!!

One of many classics!

Post 2: Going Out
I don't like sitting in one place or staying inside doing the same thing for extended amounts of time- I definitely prefer being on the move! I enjoy being out in the fresh air getting some sunshine and I would tell you that getting out of the house (but more importantly just being with people) is definitely good for my mental health at times as well. I love going to my family's houses for barbeques, going out to eat with family and friends, and driving around with friends at night. My mom and I love to go to Jan's Health Bar for lunch, and my family's go-to going-out place is Wahoos- so good! My friends and I love to go to Pressed Juicery for "soft serve" too- it is seriously the best thing ever you have to try it! (we also love Shake Shack and Harbor House) ;) It's always fun to go out and hang out with some good company.
