I was dancing like crazy when suddenly I get KICKED up the butt!! I take the mask off to find that I was going the wrong way! But for all I was concerned I just wanted to KICK Lucas back but HARDER!! The music turned off as we stumbled off stage... MAN THAT WAS NUTS!!!!!

Phew! We were working up a sweat! It was the final day of camp, and we had just done another 2 rounds of quiz questions. Now we had to Just Dance to the music, and get all that caged energy out. The song was ‘Uptown Funk’ and we were all doing it in sign language, which we had learned the day before. It was the last chorus, and oh my nugget, we started doing the weirdest thing. We made a little line at one side of the hall (just a small group of our friends), and started throwing our hands up. Left, right, left, left. Right, left, right, right. Repeat. Even though out arms were tired, we kept on doing it until the song finally ended. My hands had died, but it was all worth it for the memories!

It was the last day of camp and I’ve only just survived from my be (my back was huting all weekend) to the food which people got food poisoning from, I just couldn’t wait to get home. My friends and I were sitting a corner chatting until we got called into the gymnasium to do a quiz. When we got into the gymnasium we got told we had to get into a group of 4 or 5 my group consists of Owen, Evan, Ben, and I. In the first and second round we got 4 and 5 and the third and fourth round we got 2 and 3 for the fifth and sixth round we never got told but since we teamed up on that round I think we did pretty good our group name was called people because we’re people. It was time to go home on the bus I was talking to my new friends and reading my warm fuzzies (I got that much my bag ripped).

On the second day of camp, the morning was pretty average. Get up, get ready, do some things to kill time, then have breakfast. It was all good until we were informed on what activities we were doing... Chisholm has to swim first! We had to swim first! It was going to be absolutely freezing! Like when you have a bunch of ice in some water, cold! Although I was not going to miss out swimming, so I eventually sucked it up.... We arrived at the pool and put our things up on the bench so that they wouldn’t get wet. We were told that the pool was heated so I had a little bit of hope that was shining bright. People started jumping in, followed by screams of “Oh god it’s freezing!!” So what do I do.. I Go into the pool... and regret it immediately.. It. Was. Freezing!!! It felt like the pool was one massive ice cube and it melted into freezing water! It slowly got better, but it was still cold. I had fun though! I was able to get into really warm clothes afterwards though.

I didn’t want to go. I grabbed my stuff and we drove off to school. I gave my mum a big hug and kiss, and I gave my little sister Lily a big hug and I ran off to my friends. We sat down next to our luggage and started talking non stop about camp, we were all really excited. As we started arriving my jaw dropped, this was not what I expected! It was really nice. As the day went on it was Rice’s turn for swimming. I got changed and dashed for the pools with all my equipment in my hands. I jumped in as the cold rush of water hit my body. We played games and swam around. What a day!

We anxiously stand outside room 16. Thoughts, pictures and questions filled our head. Like how big is the room? What will our beds be like!? And how does our dorm look? All eight of us stood waiting for someone to open the door. Keeley opens the door slowly. I stand shocked and annoyed. Great the dorm is super small. We stand disappointed. There were four metal tightly packed bunk beds along the walls and there was some sort of cabinet or bed side table in between two of the beds. We entered the room and got a whoosh of gross hot air. ‘Ew!’ I lug my bag onto the nearest bunk bed. I like bottom bunk and top bunk so I don’t mind either. i notice a stain on the floor and Keeley notices weird stains on her mattress. This is going to be a looooooong camp!!

I was a bit bored and tired, so I went anyway. “Jeez, I think I’ve been here before!” I said to myself, as I rebounded someone’s shot and took the basketball to have a turn at shooting.
"Hey!” “You!” Said the voice of a complete stranger. “Huh?” I was confused for a moment, until the stranger had confronted me. “Hey!” Said the stranger. “You’re Elijah’s brother, right?” “Yep that’s me.” I replied. “Wait a minute! You’re Georgette!” “Yeh” she replied. “Well since you’re here, 1v1 me!” She said. “Oh, um, ok sure.” I stuttered.
“You can start!” I said as I handed her the basketball. I had realised I had made a mistake by versing her, as I instantly got dropped to the ground, from her “ankle breaker”. “Oh ooh” I said to myself.

My dorm was a good dorm we had so much fun. I was packed up and ready to go. We all took are heavy bags and put them in an undercover area. Each house had a clean up job and Teresa was put with Rice to go around and pick up rubbish. As I was walking around I saw my friend Isabelle and I asked if she would sit on the bus with me. She said yes. We all got our warm fuzzys back with was exciting. You had to sit with your house on the bus. I was lucky Isabelle was in Teresa. We all got on the bus and headed back to school. Overall it was a great bus ride home.

I was so nervous to do skipping not any skipping but you have to run into the middle of the rope and jump over the rope. I love to skip but this type NO! I was front of the line I think I swallowed my tongue and I couldn’t breathe. I finally ran in and jumped over the rope. I was so proud of myself and I cheered on my friends. Couple rounds later I felt like the king of jumping ropes. Our faction got up to 30 jumps. We all so tired but having so much fun. This taught me to not to overthink it and to try your hardest.

It’s a scorcher today, a swim would be lovely!’ I thought to myself. ‘ Splash!’ It’s so refreshing, I’ve never loved cold water more! After a lot of slashing in the water, my friends and I decided to sit by the pool and have a break from being an average annoying 12 year old for a bit ( Only for a bit!). “ Oh, no! The whistle blew! We’ve gotta get out of the pool!”, yelled a kid from a distance. The only negative thing about the pools was..... getting changed! Now I’m not gonna get into detail about that!

My favourite memory at camp was when we felt the water for the first time in the pool at camp. I was surprised that the pool was freezing cold because Serpentine is a really hot place. My best friend Elyse and I held each other’s hand and jumped into the icy water, the feeling of your head go underneath the cold water was really refreshing and cool. Once our heads were above water we could hear the girls squealing because of the cold temperature of the water. Elyse and I soon were used to the water and joined a game of Piggy In The Middle, it was really fun because I made new friends with people in my faction Loyola. We spent about 45 minutes jumping and playing around with new friends in the pool, soon it was time for lunch so everyone had to get out of the pool quickly, I was exhausted to the point where I fell asleep first when it was time to go to bed. The pool was my favourite memory at year 7 camp.

Loyola walked towards the bus in one big group it was like we were a big Hurd of lions. We got on the bus with Chisholm but when we got on ther, there wasn’t enough room. So Kayleigh and I had to go on the bus with MacKillop which was kind of good because some of my friends were on the bus and my best friend Lucas. I got a lot of warm fuzzies surpisenly and they were all from my friends. After reading all my warm fuzzies we were at school. I was excited to go home to my phone, Netflix, PS4 and obviously the internet.

I got my bathers on and headed down the small grassy hill that leads to the pool. Once we got let in the pool area I wasted no time as I was the first one in the pool and ready to go.

When everyone got in we saw a couple of red floating balls and everyone immediately knew what to do. Someone grabbed one and we started to play a massive game of boys vs girls keepy-off. It was quite an even game and the girls said they won but I reckon nobody did. The game lasted the whole session and it was a ton of fun. After that we got told that we had priority at free time and I was so happy as I had a blast!

The Year Ten Activities

The sun was directly over head, casting only the smallest shadows for protection. The sweet smell of grass filled the warm air, pleasuring all noses and bringing comfort to all skin. Sweat prickled at the base of my neck as I ran, unearthing the rich, dark soil beneath my feet. People milled about the playing field, unable to find the energy to run after the ‘torpedo’ we were using as a ‘ball’. A breeze whispered through the blades of grass, lethally sharp only to the wind that was cut upon it. I reached up to brush sweat and hair out of my eyes, watching as someone passed into the opposition’s goal, too hot to bother to cheer or clap. The person who scored appeared to feel the same way. The trees cast larger and larger shadows of the clearing we were using as a playing field, as the afternoon sun sunk lower and lower in the clear blue sky. Both teams were too tired and good-natured to be competitive, and simply chattered away with teammates and the opposition alike, almost completely disregarding the objective of the exercise. The joyful shouts, screams and conversation from the pool and its occupants shattered the bubble of serenity that surrounded the slow-moving game repetitively, bringing some sharpness back to my mind. I gathered some determination and energy to run and receive a pass, knowing the opposition would only make the smallest efforts to intercept until we were somewhat close the ‘goal’. Of course, as soon as I got the ‘torpedo’, they began marking my most convenient options closely, monitoring their movements. I made my decision quickly and passed, as to not allow them time to collect themselves further, however, this tactic didn’t work as well in the heat, as my own team was slow to respond, and dropped the pass, which was then declared a turnover by the spectating Year Tens. I dropped back to the defence-line, the heat making my eyes tired and temper decent enough not to care. I turned my sore eyes away from the target, and gazed off into the trees, stretching my arms above my head and feeling my stiff arms crack, releasing the tense anticipation. The whistle impaled itself intrusively into our moment of silence, and immediately, both sides melged together to talk about their days, ignoring the exasperated Year Ten’s desperate attempts to get them into order. I sighed and jogged to the sidelines to pick up my water bottle, imagining the heavenly cold water sliding down my parched mouth, and into my dry throat, while the different conversation echoed in my ears, and the sounds of the pool’s occupants leaving the water seemed to emerge only distantly out of the heated air.

The water hit my skin with a cool sharp feeling which felt good on a hot scorching day.

It was a competition, the team who kept the ball for the longest won. The game started with a huge wave as everyone swam to the ball. I mostly stayed at the deep end because no one was there. Once I held the ball in my hands everyone swam to me. I threw the ball really far from to one of the boys. It successfully made it into one of the boys hands.

In the end the boys bet the girls by a lot of points. I enjoyed it a lot and I was glad that we were going to do the same game the next day.

The girls from Xavier won all of their games of tug of war, but the boys lost all their games. We did only have 12 people, some people say that is just an excuse, but when the other houses have 20 or more it’s a lot. YAY! It was time for tunnel ball, all the girls and boys went together for every house. I was the first one. I had to wait a long time for my turn to run as I was waiting thirty- seven people.

XAVIER WIN! I ran so hard to the end and we won. I was so excited for some reason, so i ran up and down and gave people high fives. My friend from PC was really nice to me as she kept praising me. We were all tired from a long night of activities.

The First Night In Dorm 14

“Ugh I feel so dead inside.” That’s what I was feeling after sport on the first night at camp. I just wanted to take a warm shower and go to bed. So I ran to my dorm like there was no tomorrow and got all my shower things. I was the first one in there. I turned the “HOT” shower nob and...it was cold. They had no flipping hot water! Even if I turn it all the way. I was pretty quick in there so I got all my things, got changed, blah blah blah. I chilled out side and mucked around with my friends like the weird person I was until I heard a really uncomfortable sound of a whistle. As soon as I heard that, everyone was running to there dorms. I did aswell. I got all cozy in the pitch black room I was in. For some reason I heard a few people munching on something. Of course. They were eating there lollies in bed spilling them all over the floor. It took a while to get to sleep because everyone was talking and the teacher had to check on us like five times. Acording to one of my dorm mates, the teaches were laughing and yelling all night. Finally I managed to fall asleep wondering what the next will bring me.

‘Perfect Match’

After a long, tiring first night, Mr McNulty decided to tell us that we all had a ‘perfect match’ in the school. Everyone was mumbling and going crazy. Then he told us that my friend, Cameron had three matches! As nervous as embarrassed as she was, she was called up and taken outside. Once she had left the room, Mr McNulty explained that he was going to put her three matches behind a ping pong table so she couldn’t see them, and she would ask them a series of question to find out who truely was her perfect match. Her three matches were Jack, Bryce [her boyfriend] and the one that made everyone go crazy... Mr Iriks. Cameron came back in and she asked all the questions, Bryce was in the lead with 2 points so that meant that he was her ‘perfect match’ . Little did Cameron know when Bryce was going to reveal that it was him, Mr Iriks and him swapped and Cameron freaked out, they swapped back and Cameron seemed happy.

Is camp always fun? NO! Let me explain why. The food can be disgusting, there were lots of bugs, and on top of that the weather was awful, when I say awful I meant it! It would be hot during the day and then cold during the night. But I’m here to tell you my favourite memory of year 7 camp.
It was the second last day of camp, I just got out of the refreshing cold pool, heading over to the sports hall. Mrs Miller was there with the year 10 support leaders with a long skipping rope. We did a practice skipping round and of course I failed since I last skipped in year 4. The year 10 support leader did a example of skipping without leaving a gap. I was surprised and scared to try. We got in line and surprisingly I did it! It was easy but sometimes I would fail, I had fun though. I head back to dorm 12 to get a drink before i head out to catch up with some friends in free time!

“Please, please”. Me and Milli say. “It won’t hurt.” “Fine”.Lucas says embarrassed. I tie up on piece of his thin hair while Milli ties up another piece. “Where is the scrunchie” Milli says. “Here” I say as I rush to put someone’s hair other while it would’ve fell out. “Beautiful”. We both say looking at Lucas’s hair. “We need one more thing” I say. I see three pegs in the corner of my eye, yellow, yellow, and white. Perfect I think, I peg the into his little pieces of hair. As I teach Lucas a dance to suit his hair Milli sees Lukas Makenzie and calls him over. “Your hairs long enough”. She says. We call him over along with Gracie, because Grancie had extra scrunchie’s and hair ties. We form a line of mainly boys to turn into E-girls and do their hair then the dance which they haven’t mastered yet.

“Can we please tie your hair up?” Sophia and I asked Lucas holding scrunchies in our hands. “It won’t hurt” Sophia said. “Fine” Lucas replied as we smiled and tied his hair up, Sophia tied up one part and I tied up the other. We then showed our friends and had lots of laughs and fun. “One more thing” Sophia said as she ran and got three pegs and put them in Lucas’s hair, two yellow pegs and on white one. “Pure beauty” both Sophia and I say bursting out laughing. After a bit, Sophia and I decided we would teach Lucas a dance to go with his hair, we then tied up Ben’s, Lucas Makenzie’s and we tried to tie up Tobias’s hair, we tried to teach them the dance aswell but not all of them could get it. Then we realised that we’d turned many of the boys in our year group into e-girls. Later on while we were doing just dance at the quiz the boys that had their hair tied up got on stage and did the dance we taught them, they weren’t the best at it though.

Three days of exhaustion

"Good luck son”, dad shouted from a far distance,”have fun”. “Thanks dad”, I responded. A long journey to year seven camp, I can’t wait. “Pssss”, the bus stopped, we had arrived.

First day of camp and my body is so floppy due to my excitement, as soon as I jumped on the bus. We were sent to our dorms and I had no patients checking how my dorm would would look like and by that I sprinted towards my dorm . As soon as my right eye has vision of my dorm, I stopped. “Not that much space lads”, I shouted. It was ten in the morning and we rotated to our first activity, scavenger hunt. There were not that many challenges that I could do that were listed on the papers, although a rubiks cube was mentioned on the list, and I can solve it, yay. It was mid day and we were rotated to the sports hall in order to learn a new writing activity, warm fuzzies. To be honest, by the time I was rotated to this activity, I thought it would be super extremity boring but eventually it was pretty fun and creative, and I would be the person to write warm fuzzies everyday. A couple hours forward, it was nighttime and I still had the delicious food in my taste buds after having dinner in the dining hall. When couple hours went forward, we were sent to our dorms. “Goodnight lads”, I said to my dormmates. It was the next day and I was so energetic as if you were to electrocute you body. I had a nice good sleep and got ready for the day. “Antartica”, I shouted. Goosebumps were all over my body after taking a cold shower, what a terrible experience it was. “Suitcase Circus”, a man shouted. “Circus, interesting”, I thought and wore my clothes.” We will be learning how to do some skillful tricks”, the man said with enthusiasm, “get ready”. He began playing with a cup looking toy called a diabolo. “Oh- my- eyes”, I said it with my mouth open as if you were to chuck something ten centimetres long wide. Is he friends with gravity, is he a wizard, what is going on? When he finished his mind blowing trick, my peers and some teachers were clapping very loudly and as I had a face when you are about to stare at your favourite food. “Your turn”, the circus man said. We were all given the same equipments that the man had used. “So hard”, I shouted, “how did he do that”? Ding ding ding, it was lunchtime and we had to be lined up outside of the dining hall. “What food you want”, a women wearing a black apron questioned. “Any vegetarian food please”, I responded. Eventually the woman ordered me a mind blowing, curry. “No veggy way”, I shouted. As soon as I finished my curry .a voice came towards my ears saying, “ice cream for dessert”. “I don’t want any”, I said in sarcasm. When finishing the ice cream, I breathed with hungeriness. The food’s taste got into my nerves. One hour forward and we had to go back to our dorms in order for tomorrow.

Boom, it was the next day and I woke up with having a feeling that I’d slept for two hours. Flip flop clothes ready for the door to close, it is a our final day at camp. “Breakfast everyone”, Ms Petherick said I a lot of voice volume changes. My peers and I were lining outside the dining hall. “Nutri Grains, milk and juice”, getting my breakfast sorted. Time was ticking very slowly as soon I had one spoon of Nutri Grains in my mouth, now that felt nice. “Sports hall everybody”, Ms Roberts shouted. My team for the quiz turned out to be my friends, Corey, Micheal, Matthew and Campbell. Bad news is that we hadn’t won any quizzes although team had won prizes. “Stomp crush”, we walked in gravel heading towards the cone area. “Lets go to the bus”, Mr Wheeler said, “no dramas”. We went on the bus and head to our school. “Psss”, the bus stopped. We went of the bus waiting for hours and had to be sent to the oval. “Bye everyone”, I said my final words.
