An affordable and high-quality internet connection is something important but not easily accessible for many Filipinos amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. With countless schools and businesses forced to go online amidst quarantine protocols, poorer employees and students face more difficulties in connecting to the internet to be able to work properly.  One of the better examples of these is the plight of many public school students in Metro Manila who either lack good internet or the proper gadgets to continue their education for 2020-2021, a phenomenon that prompted a failed movement amongst upper-class college students in November of 2020 to go on strike and call for an academic freeze until they felt that the government had responded to its citizens' needs.

Several businesses and schools have to rely on the internet to continue functioning, with business meetings and classes being conducted online instead of psychically. I believe we have reached this point as the internet service providers were not well-equipped to cater their services during a pandemic. Due to the minimal competition faced by internet service providers, there was little reason to advance or innovate their current services from a perspective focused on profit. As such, a stable connection may be unaffordable for most given the current prices for high internet speeds. A good connection is not aided by the increased usage of the internet during the pandemic, with the greater internet traffic hampering decent speeds.

Legal and important documents like birth certificates, diplomas, report cards aren't exactly necessary for a human's survival, yet they are still needed for carrying on with life in society even in the context of a pandemic.

Before the pandemic, it was no simple feat to line up and wait for hours at the respective offices for one's documents. But now, in the context of the pandemic,
