If you were to call it a dwelling it would be the same to everyone else, creating the sameness they want in the community. It's not a small apartment or a huge mansion. The whole concept of their society is sameness and one of their rules is, no boasting. If somebody had a huge, big, castle-like mansion when someone else lived in a small hut, people could compare themselves to the person who has better than them. A dwelling is just a dwelling, and nothing is different or unique about it. This way, the citizens don't feel uncomfortable or inferior about the fact that there is someone who has better than them.
