Trust in the LORD with all your heart,

1.) I believe that this Proverb means that your heart, mind, and soul should be filled with the grace and love of the Lord.

2.) I chose this Proverb because I believe that everyone should follow this because having the Lord in your heart always, will make you better as a person and as a follower of the Lord.

(Proverbs 3:5)

and my teaching as the apple of your eye” (Proverbs 7:2) 

1) To me this proverb means something very important. To me it means that you should follow the commands that God gives you and live on. This is so God will give you a good life if you follow his commands. You also are to keep what God teaches as your top priority. Keep his teachings close to your heart and what you care about most. 

2) I like this proverb because it caught my eye due to it’s scripture. I love the way the proverb includes ‘apple of your eye.’ This seems like such a creative and unique way to put the point across. Also, I love that the phrase ‘the apple of your eye’ refers to something or someone that one cherishes above all others. The phrase perfectly describes how you should cherish God’s teachings above all others. 

2. I like this proverb because it allows us to contemplate what we do wrong everyday. It allows us to believe that we can do good and not do bad in the world. We can be less hating people and more loving people. This is why I like this proverb. 

Proverbs 10:12

Hear, my son, your father’s instruction,

and reject not your mother’s teaching;

A graceful diadem will they be for your head; a pendant for your neck.

My son, should sinners entice you,

do not go if they say, “Come along with us! Let us lie in wait for blood,

unprovoked, let us trap the innocent;

Let us swallow them alive, like Sheol,

whole, like those who go down to the pit!

All kinds of precious wealth shall we gain, we shall fill our houses with booty;

Cast in your lot with us,

we shall all have one purse!”

My son, do not walk in the way with them, hold back your foot from their path!

[For their feet run to evil,

they hasten to shed blood.

In vain a net is spread

right under the eyes of any bird—

They lie in wait for their own blood,

they set a trap for their own lives.

This is the way of everyone greedy for loot: it takes away their lives.”

To me this means that greed and violence can lead to terrible things. To me it is saying that you can lose your lives or faith by being greedy and violent. I like this because it speaks the truth. Those I believe who are greedy and violent will face the harsh reality and have their own type of karma. Even today people believe that they can gamble and fight, and that that is okay. Their greed and lust for violence will cause their downfall.

Miss Nagle

Proverbs verse: The hope of the just brings joy, but the expectation of the wicked perishes.

I like this verse because it explains the way if you have hope, you get joy. Though, if you act horrible or unloving, you don’t get the expectations you wanted.

1. “Does not Wisdom call,
and Understanding raise her voice?”

To me this means that we don’t have to be loud to show that we know something

2. I think it literally means that you don’t need to wait to learn and that opportunities are out there for you

“The patient man shows good sense, 

but the quick-tempered man displays

 folly at its height.

To me this means…

that men with great anger and rage will be foolish 

when he has his chance to prove himself but the man that is patient will prove himself to the people.

I like this psalm because…

It is a good lesson to learn and base yourself off and to live your life around.

but the craving of the wicked he thwarts

1. To me this means God will help the struggling and take away from the rich and greedy.
2. I like it because it says what needs to happen in society.
