The chromosomes aren't properly separated meaning one extra 21 chromosome is added.<br><br>This is considered a mutation because is was a change in the number of chromosomes which means a change in the DNA.</div>]]></description>

If there are abnormal levels of PAPP-A and/or HCG there is a chance of down syndrome. During the ultrasound, if there is great amounts of fluids in the neck then the child will be born with down syndrome.</div>]]></description>
