Imperialism is when a country uses its “power” to control or take over a smaller country because the country taking over needs something from the smaller country. The big stick is a method used by Theodore Roosevelt and he used it to navigate foreign affairs. One of these examples is the Panama canal when the U.S. came to Panama and basically made them build the Panama canal
