Not sure if you remember me but I sure do remember you, even though I've left Altera (or now Intel) for 7.5 years now. I am quite shocked to hear your retirement news - you are too young to retire?! Anyway, I hope the counter in PEDB to track the number of days it hasn't caused issue to AMAX Die Release process has never reset since I left. Actually, I don't even know if the two systems are still "alive" today!
Anyway, congrats again on your retirement and I hope all the best to your new chapter in your life!

I guess the day that everyone feared has finally arrived - when Andy hands over the reigns of PEDB to someone else... there will be no Andy to call on weekends or middle of the night or any other time, any more!  
Guess what - now you can take that vacation that you always deserved, can learn a few more new languages, travel and just live in other countries and may be buy a retirement house where you need not bother about a stable internet connection, not even a dish antenna :) !  I hope you get to spend quality time with your family and friends.
You will be missed a lot by all the people who worked with you.

Still remember the time when I worked on iTrack, your cases will always be the last I was trying to close :p, then I had the opportunity to work with you on DataView/PEDB collaboration, followed by AMAX/PEDB handshake and finally PEDB piece, especially on the part where we are working together to migrate PEDB2!! I enjoy working with you, someone which is very detailed-oriented and committed, I learned a lot of things from you, both domain knowledge as well as technical know-how, you are definitely a great guru of mine. Besides, I enjoy those great chit-chat moments we had, particularly the interesting stories that you shared :) You will be missed, and I do hope we can still meet up sometimes in the future, do keep in touch Andy! Much has been said in our recent email exchange. Still, I could not miss putting in more words to wish one of my greatest teacher a good retirement. Did you know? When I just newly joined Altera, my first assignment was to monitor TAL notification failures. That is when I started to work with you. It was initially quite overwhelming for me to have to write to you, as I have been hearing that you're very knowledgeable and technically strong. In my mind, I fear of making mistake and feeling nervous every time writing an email to you when trying to figure out solution to the endless issues (hahaha :P). Over time, I realize you're far from scary. You're a very nice and humorous person. I noticed the hidden jokes and humors in almost every messages you wrote. I enjoyed reading your notes and emails, they are informative, educational and amusing.
I could recall a time, like it just happen yesterday. Chin Ming and I were still pretty new to the team. You sent an email to both me and Chin Ming, then I walked to Chin Ming's cube and pointed out your witty jokes to Chin Ming and we both had a good laugh. LOL. It was a good memory and it gets easier for me since then.

I've learnt so much from you! It's truly an honor and a privilege to have been given the opportunities working with you :)

PEDB SQL Coding standard has been and will always be one of the most significant programming skill I learn from you. I remember how "religious" you are in enforcing it. But thanks to you, its a skill or habit that have benefitted me a lot, even when I was working on other programming language.

Thank you so much for being my mentor, thanks for the trust and friendship that you have given me, and thank you again for the hospitality that you shown me when I was in San Jose.
