I was born in Wirajuri country (Murrumbijeri people) in a place called Bungambrawatha, later called Albury. I often work and live on the lands of the Gweagal people of the Dharawal nation who were known to mix white clay with local berries to use as a dietary supplement!

My ancestory is English/Scottish/Irish, German and Scandanavian. My ancestors came to Australia 2 or 3 generations ago. I come from a family of 4 children and am first in family at university. I played hockey at school/university (and recently!) and come from a family of mad AFL (Swans) and cricket lovers.

I first went to uni in Bathurst and moved to Sydney before returning to University to study BSc(Human Movt Science and Nutrition) before doing a MSc to qualify as a dietitian, then a PhD.

My favourite meal is grilled salmon (but I also like fresh pesto...).

I was born in Indonesia in the early 1990s. My ancestors originated from mainland China, however that was several generations ago. We also had a strong Dutch influence growing up, and my father’s side of the family all speak fluent dutch. This translated to the foods we grew up with, being a mix of local Indonesian, Chinese, and Dutch meals.

I moved to Australia alone at the age of 18, settling in the lands of the Gadigal people to pursue higher education. This was where I completed my Bachelors in Food Science and Nutrition with UNSW, and an Honours working with Food Standards Australia and New Zealand. This was followed by a Masters in dietetics at Sydney uni, and eventually a PhD candidature which I’m currently completing.

As for sport, I used to play badminton but nowadays am more partial to running. Occasionally, I also enjoy watching some regional Southeast Asian sports such as Sepak Takraw.
